Louisiana 2027 rankings update countdown: Nos. 30 to 21

Prep Redzone Louisiana will release its latest 2027 rankings this week, continuing its class-by-class updates process as the upcoming season approaches.   Leading up to the complete, 100-player list of rising seniors on Thursday afternoon, we will count down the top 30 in more detail.   And make sure to check back following the release for additional features and notes, including looks at debuts, stock-risers and top remaining uncommitted prospects.     No. 30 [player_tooltip player_id='942208' first='Mason' last='Moore'] — 5-9, 160 DB — Central (Baton Rouge)   A familiar face kicks off the rankings countdown, as the smart, ball-hawking safety holds down his top-30 positioning from the initial list earlier this year. Moore had a great offseason showcasing his anticipation, ball skills and increasing confidence and willingness to be vocal on the field, and his new high school home in a stout and well-coached Class 5A defense in a tough district should be a beneficial fit as his development continues.   No. 29 [player_tooltip player_id='1356127' first='Ray'Quan' last='Williams'] — 6-0, 165 WR — St. Augustine   The first of back-to-back Purple Knights pass-catchers debuting in the rankings after catching our eyes throughout this spring and summer. Williams' athleticism, body control and ability to play the ball in the air — tracking and securing the reception on even tightly contested, acrobatic plays — stood out on multiple occasions.   No. 28 [player_tooltip player_id='1323402' first='Miguel' last='Whitley'] — 6-0, 170 WR — St. Augustine   The Purple Knights appear well set up with a dynamic duo on the outside — and, as the full rankings list later Thursday will show, even more weapons — for years to come. Whitley and Williams are similar in size, with Whitley listed slightly heavier and also appearing to provide slightly more of the team's explosive vertical punch in this summer's 7-on-7 settings.   No. 27 [player_tooltip player_id='423247' first='Dylan' last='Henry'] — 5-11, 155 DB — Mandeville   After the back-to-back St. Augustine debuts, a back-to-back pair of familiar Prep Redzone Louisiana names from the New Orleans area carry the countdown into the mid-20s. Henry, the Skippers' budding defensive standout, is a versatile defender whose intelligence, instincts and ball skills have been eye-catching traits thus far early in his high school career and in heavy 7-on-7 opportunities in the offseason.   No. 26 [player_tooltip player_id='463125' first='Savoy' last='Guidry'] — 5-11, 165 DB — Holy Cross   Another versatile defender from New Orleans who plays with high IQ and confidence, Guidry is a rangy potential cornerback or safety with a knack for making plays on the ball, including his abilities to quickly cover big chunks of field in a hurry on the back end of the defense or make highlight-reel snatches in the air.   No. 25 [player_tooltip player_id='1251692' first='Ronald' last='Cash'] — 5-11, 140 WR — De La Salle   The Cavaliers' promising young receiver holds steady in the top 25 of the expanding list with a strong offseason in travel and school 7-on-7 settings alike. As mentioned in the initial rankings earlier this year, Cash's vertical speed has been among his early standout traits, and more footage throughout the summer also showcased a nice catch radius and awareness on leaping, sideline and sliding grabs.   No. 24 [player_tooltip player_id='1250281' first='Karsen' last='Sellers'] — 6-1, 160 QB — Alexandria   Sellers sprouted up to over 6-feet tall as a freshman with a quick release and evident levels of confidence and drive — even as a relative youngster for both the Trojans and in some notable offseason 7-on-7 and camp settings. He enters the fall battling with another ranked 2027 quarterback for Alexandria's starting role, competition that should serve both players well as they tackle that challenge and work to establish themselves on a statewide level.   No. 23 [player_tooltip player_id='1356118' first='Asher' last='Carter'] — 6-3, 170 WR — Zachary   One of the top debuts in this round of 2027 rankings updates, the big wide receiver already stood out physically in summer 7-on-7 action for his Broncos. And beyond just the listed measurables, Carter also plays physically with his attacking of the ball and not shying away from contact — with some potential shades of former Zachary star and now Louisiana (Lafayette) receiver Charles Robertson.   No. 22 [player_tooltip player_id='739753' first='Landon' last='Johnson'] — 6-0, 165 ATH — Madison Prep   The Chargers' younger Johnson brother is one of the most notable risers on the preseason rankings list. "Manu" saw quarterback reps for both his travel and school 7-on-7 teams and also, at a young age, looked the part at cornerback and receiver as one of Madison Prep's top players against notable Class 5A competition in Zachary and Scotlandville.   No. 21 [player_tooltip player_id='934589' first='Collin' last='DiBetta'] — 5-10, 175 WR — Acadiana   The younger DiBetta brother holds strong in the early 20s after following up his impressive freshman campaign for the Wreckin' Rams with more quality performances in travel and high school 7-on-7 settings, as well as college camps. The quick-footed route-runner and reliable pass-catcher's apparent physical development stood out this summer, as did his crafty work around the goal lines at the hometown Ragin' Cajuns' on-campus 7-on-7 tournament.
