Lansing Area Players to Watch in Week 1

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The Lansing area has a lot of really good players and always has exciting matchups. One of the bigger games in Lansing area and in the state of Michigan will be <strong>DeWitt @ Haslett</strong> (Thursday, August 29th).<strong> Portage Central </strong>will travel to take on East Lansing (Thursday, August 29th). Both of these matchups will feature some tremendous football players. This season has really good early matchups, that I always look forward to seeing.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Darryle Geter | <a href="https://x.com/D_Geter12">@D_Geter12</a></strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>East Lansing</strong>, Geter's team will take on a very tough opponent in week one, in <strong>Portage Central</strong>. Geter plays fast and aggressive and shows the ability to create turnovers. Fortman has good size and has the ability to get past defenders vertically. Bender has very good competitive toughness and is not afraid to get physical with receivers and tight ends. Bender's high level play on both sides of the ball will certainly be something to watch when his team,<strong> DeWitt</strong>, takes on <strong>Haslett</strong> this Thursday. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Dontell Dennis | <a href="https://x.com/DontrellDennis">@DontrellDennis</a></strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Dennis has the ability to read the quarterback and come down with interceptions. Dennis has a fast and fluid back pedal and it helps him play good man coverage. Dennis has fluid hips and shows the ability to turn and run with receivers. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='563430' first='Traverse' last='Moore'] | <a href="https://x.com/moore_traverse">@moore_traverse</a></strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Moore knows how to create big plays with the football in his hands. Moore is certainly a star player on this <strong>DeWitt </strong>football team. Moore is a good route runner at receiver and gets open quickly on out routes. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='587907' first='BJ' last='Windham'] | <a href="https://x.com/bj_windham">@bj_windham</a></strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Windham is a really good cornerback for<strong> East Lansing</strong>, and him and<strong> Darryle Geter</strong> really give<strong> East Lansing</strong> one of the top Secondary's in the state of Michigan. Windham really excels in zone coverage with his agility and ability to read the quarterback. He is a good tackler who can put his foot in the ground and burst back to ball carriers to make tackles. Windham plays fast and with good effort, showing the willingness to pursue and tackler ball carriers. I like how he is not shy about making contact with opposing blockers. Dabler can read run plays well and shows good lateral quickness as well. Dabler does play fast and will pursue ball carriers. Dabler does have good body control and agility and it helps him to work past blockers. Dabler is a physical tackler also. <strong>Haslett</strong>, Dabler's team will put him on offense and have him run block. Dabler really excels at this and can really deliver powerful blocks. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph -->
