It's that time of year to concentrate on the next group of running backs primed for their last season at the youth level that will solidify their legacy before moving on to action on Friday nights. These young men catch your attention immediately with explosive speed, and fast break runs. But they have their own unique talents that will continue to separate themselves and push to be the first number called when it's time to put the ball in the playmakers hands. I'm excited to see more as the season is weeks from first kickoff.

Kashus has put everyone on notice coming off a stellar 7th grade season. He is a pure dawg with mental toughness, and considered a bonafide threat on both sides of the ball. At running back his skill set includes physicality, balance, speed, power, and receiving ability just to mention a few. This summer he earned MVP honors in the All State game with video game numbers. This shouldn't have been a surprise since he claimed all #1's in the 40, shuttle, and broad jump. I like his kid a lot and think he will increase his stock this fall.

Mr. Cooper is a natural ball carrier that wants to carry the load and works hard off the field to be prepared. That's why it wasnt too surprising he earned MVP of the All-Delaware Bowl this year. Jamar Cropper left fans with a lot to talk about tallying up over 100 yards and a pair of touchdowns. This coming 8th grade season he will raise the bar I'm sure. He can block and has proven to be a great resource in the passing game as well. However, when yards are needed, Cropper has the goods to slice through defenses at each level with his powerful knee drive accompanied by speed.

Pharrell is lightning in a bottle that plays big in a smaller frame. His acceleration to and through contact gives him an advantage to sneak in extra yards at the end of plays, due to always falling forward. He is a nightmare in the open field. Don't sleep on his inside game because he has a great feel for running lanes. Coming out of Miami Gardens with a couple of Championships under his belt will assume a brighter future ahead.

Boults bolts through holes fast and hard. If you don't get him before he gets started he will leave you in his rearview real quick. I like his agility and footwork as well. Going on multiple camp visits in the SEC and walking away with the fastest man award is impressive (Alabama, South Carolina). Most recently, Boults pulled a verbal offer from UNC Pembroke Braves. I expect more traction after another highlight season before transitioning into high school. He is an award winning/record setting football and track star with a lot of upside and attributes to be desired. Definitely a name to keep circled.

Kemp is an all purpose back that plays with all heart at 100 mph. One of the best in recent years that I've evaluated when it comes to contact balance. He is beyond comfortable in his skin and very confident in his ability to deliver when his number is called. Fast twitch is on 10, vision is top notch, foot work is flawless and he's still hungry. Took home almost every award imaginable and carries Jersey on his back with pride. As he continues to develop in both size and football IQ, I would not bet against him, this one is destined for great things.
