The defensive secondary is a position grouping that will get overlooked. Arkansas has numerous players in the secondary that will cause plenty of headaches for opposing quarterbacks. In this article, we are going to highlight several cornerbacks and safeties that have the potential to have impressive weeks to kick off the season. Here are the players to watch out for this week.

[player_tooltip player_id='1407303' first='Kayvon' last='Stringer'] is a safety that has no problem finding the football for the Pine Bluff Zebras. He reads the quarterback extremely well and seems to know where he is going with the football. Stringer plays the ball well in the air. He will force the opposing wide receiver to essentially have to play defense. Last season, Stringer had six interceptions and 12 pass break ups. I look for Stringer to get off to a strong start this season. The Zebras take on Millwood, Oklahoma this week to start the season. Stringer is a player to watch out for as the season kicks off.

[player_tooltip player_id='1227670' first='Rylan' last='Ramsey']-Cornerback-Valley View-5'10” 135-Pounds-2026

Valley View is never at a shortage for talented players on either side of the ball. [player_tooltip player_id='1227670' first='Rylan' last='Ramsey'] is a cornerback that forces opposing wide receivers to work for the football. He does not shy away from contact. Ramsey will play receivers physically. A season ago, Ramsey had 45 tackles and 5 interceptions on the season. Ramsey has the ability to surpass those numbers this season. The Blazers take on Poplar Bluff this week and should receive a good test to start the season.

[player_tooltip player_id='1039939' first='Bo' last='Mosley']-Cornerback-Russellville-6'2” 170-Pounds-2025

[player_tooltip player_id='1039939' first='Bo' last='Mosley'] is one of the most athletic prospects in the class of 2025. He will see playing time all over the field this season for the Cyclones. Mosley has good hands and can haul in anything thrown in his direction. Meanwhile, in the defensive secondary Mosley can shift between the safety and the cornerback positions effectively. He is a playmaker in the defensive secondary. The Cyclones open the season against Morrilton. Russellville is a team that can surprise this season, and Mosley is a player to watch out for no matter where he is on the field.

[player_tooltip player_id='451342' first='Davian' last='Hall']-Safety-Elkins-6'0” 195-Pounds-20205

Over the past few years, [player_tooltip player_id='451342' first='Davian' last='Hall'] has become one of the most consistent players in the class of 2025. He has the versatility to play multiple positions for the Elks. Hall is another prospect that will see playing time on both sides of the football. Hall uses his speed well in coverage and can make up a lot of ground. The Elkins safety tracks the ball well in the air. He knows where the opposing quarterback is going with the football. I expect a strong season from Hall this upcoming season. Elkins opens on the road against Miami, Oklahoma.

[player_tooltip player_id='466187' first='Kyndrick' last='Williams']-Safety-Fayetteville-6'0” 185-Pounds-2026

The talent on the defensive side of the ball for the Bulldogs this season is eye-opening. [player_tooltip player_id='466187' first='Kyndrick' last='Williams'] earned the opportunity to start at the safety position after a strong postseason and spring. He plays the ball well in the air. Williams forces the opposing wide receiver to play defense. Williams wraps up the ball carrier when making the tackle. He will separate the ball from the ball carrier. Williams and the Bulldogs open up against Cabot on the road this week. Williams is a player to watch out for in the secondary this season.
