For this fifth installment of the series we'll be taking a look at the most popular position group in football. The KC metro has been known to produce some quality quarterbacks over the years. While these next two graduating classes don't necessarily boast high-profile names like in previous years, there's still plenty of talented arms to go around. Here are five KC-area QB's to look out for this season.

This group of five begins with a senior due for a huge season. [player_tooltip player_id='353224' first='Marco' last='Rodriguez'] possesses many next-level traits that should have recruiters in constant contact with him throughout his senior campaign. His height is what will get noticed first, but there's so much more to his game. Rodriguez is a good decision maker with great accuracy, and is an underrated athlete as well. He has the potential to be an All-State caliber player this season.

[player_tooltip player_id='1370384' first='Jamison' last='Sarver'] - Olathe North, 6'2”, 195, Unranked

Despite having a new starter under center in 2023, the Olathe North Eagles didn't seem to skip a beat. First-year starter, [player_tooltip player_id='1370384' first='Jamison' last='Sarver'], helped lead the Eagles to an impressive 9-2 record and earned an All-State Honorable Mention nod in the process. Sarver was efficient, completing 66% of his passes and threw for over 1,600 yards with 16 touchdowns. In addition, he rushed for 360 yards on 81 carries. He's capable of being a dangerous dual-threat quarterback during his senior year, and is a prime candidate for our Class of ‘25 Rankings.

[player_tooltip player_id='1370381' first='Drew' last='Parks'] - De Soto, 6'2”, 185, Unranked

[player_tooltip player_id='1370381' first='Drew' last='Parks'] is the second senior quarterback in this report eying a spot in the Class of ‘25 Rankings. He made a compelling case to be named the starter for this season after a strong showing during his junior year. Despite not being the full-time starter, Parks completed 66% of his passes and accounted for 788 yards of total offense with 15 total scores. These are solid numbers considering Parks didn't start the entire season and De Soto's offense favors the ground game. He should be heavily involved in the Wildcats' offense during his senior year.

Class of ‘26

[player_tooltip player_id='1113370' first='Carson' last='Dixon'] - Basehor-Linwood, 6'2”, 180

[player_tooltip player_id='1113370' first='Carson' last='Dixon'] of Basehor-Linwood was one of a few sophomores that saw the varsity field in 2023. The 6-foot-2 signal caller played sparingly behind Brady VanDonge, and during his limited varsity snaps he completed six of eight passes for 43 yards and one touchdown. Dixon's improved his game throughout this offseason and is looking to have a breakout junior campaign in year one as the starter. It'll be interesting to see if he can help maintain Basehor's reputation as one of the more consistent programs in Class 4A.

[player_tooltip player_id='904112' first='Lark' last='Anderson'] - Blue Valley North, 6'1”, 180

The 2023 season was slightly different for [player_tooltip player_id='904112' first='Lark' last='Anderson'] compared to [player_tooltip player_id='1113370' first='Carson' last='Dixon']. Anderson wasn't necessarily the full-time starter a year ago, but he did appear in six games and even started a few. Getting thrown into the fire as a young quarterback in the EKL can be daunting. While Anderson experienced his share of struggles, he also had some impressive moments. If given the opportunity to be the full-time starter this season he could definitely surprise folks.
