The class of 2026 in the state of Illinois is deep with talent at the wide receiver position! Ton of scholarship level prospects from power 4 to FCS. We dive into the class here in 2026 Film Room: South Suburbs Wide Receivers!

[player_tooltip player_id='1399944' first='Stephen' last='Brown'] (Marist – 6'6” 200)

Brown is the top power forward in hoops for the 2026 class, but also has a world of potential as a football prospect as well. At 6'6" 200 pounds with an elite frame and big time athleticism he can be an impact player at the wide reciever or potentially tight end position. Long strides and smooth route runner. Easy acceleration on his routes and is willing to go over the middle.

[player_tooltip player_id='283928' first='Myles' last='Ellis'] (Homewood Flossmoor – 5'10” 155)

As a sophomore Ellis racked up 30 catches for 697 yards and 10 scores. Really liked the tape we saw from Ellis. He is quick in and out of cuts. Smooth accelleration downfield. Shifty after the catch shaking defenders and getting YAC downfield. Adjust well to the ball in the air downfield. Can play inside at the slot or out of the perimeter. Blows past DBs on deep routes and overall is a fluid route runner that gets off the line with ease.

[player_tooltip player_id='401603' first='Devin' last='Hamilton'] (Marist – 6'3” 180)

Hamilton is a good sized 6'3" perimeter pass catcher. Explosive route runner that is strong running with it after the catch. More of a possession guy at this stage getting first downs. Good on out routes and is a physical blocker downfield in the run game.

[player_tooltip player_id='801703' first='Liam' last='Martin'] (Bradley Bourbonnais – 6'4” 200)

Massive wide out at 6'4" that could transition into being more of a flex TE down the line. Pretty good speed for his size, but is best as a redzone threat especially on the edges on fades and corner routes.

[player_tooltip player_id='319342' first='Chase' last='Markowicz'] (Lincoln Way West – 6'3” 175)

Markowicz is a good sized receiver that is a positive route runner. Likes the wheel route and can score TDs on the edges of the endzone. Gets leverage on DBs and uses it to make catches. Nice speed after the catch in the open field and is a threat as a kick returner.

[player_tooltip player_id='801879' first='Maurice' last='Garrett'] (Hillcrest – 6'1” 195)

Garrett is a big wide out that can even play some H-back. Catches it with his hands and is physical after the catch being hard to bring down. More of a physical and power guy than burner. Good redzone threat that wins 50/50 balls.

[player_tooltip player_id='537232' first='Derrick' last='Streeter Jr'] (Hillcrest – 5'6” 120)

Streeter is a 5'6" wide out that is shifty with the ball in his hands. Weaves through the defense for home run plays. Smooth route runner and plus athlete. Gets off the line well and adjusts to the ball in the air. Slippery getting past DBs downfield and is a YAC machine!

[player_tooltip player_id='802346' first='Colton' last='Spychalski'] (Yorkville – 6'0” 165)

Spychalski is a 6'0" wide out that is a very precise route runner. Gets in and out of cuts well and has strong hands catching the ball. Right now he is more of a possession guy with quickness.

[player_tooltip player_id='1345963' first='Jordan' last='Bennett'] (Joliet West – 6'1” 183)

Bennett is a good sized wide out that excels at bubble screens. Catches short passes and turns them into super long gains! Shifty with the ball in his hands and has long speed. High points ball in endzone.

[player_tooltip player_id='1400878' first='Braxton' last='Henry'] (Marian Catholic – 6'0” 160)

Henry is a receiver that has a good build. Excels at taking short passes and turning them into long gains.

[player_tooltip player_id='829490' first='Jaiden' last='Henry'] (Richards – 6'1” 170)

This past season Henry had 786 all purpose yards and 8 touchdowns. He is a slot WR that is very effective as a gadget guy on reverse runs where he often takes it to the house. Burst with the ball in his hands and shows flashes as a vertical threat.
