2025 Sleepers: Prospects with Great Film That I Loved, Part VI

<p><strong><em>Enjoy our newest rankings release by using promo code “mankarious30” for 30% off your first subscription to Prep Redzone New Jersey</em></strong>!</p>   <hr class="wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity" />   <p>Perhaps the single element of being on our ranking team that I enjoy the most is the opportunity to unearth hidden gems that are either overlooked, under recruited, or not yet on the radar. Creating media buzz, notoriety, and calling attention for deserving prospects that are is a selfless joy I partake in. That said, independent of any agenda, here are some player's tapes that I really enjoyed and are simply and outright good football players.</p>    <p>Being local to Highland Park, I am well aware of their recent struggles. This year the Owls broke a several-season long losing streak, led behind the gaudy play of [player_tooltip player_id='1025994' first='Markos' last='Hantsoulis']. Hantsoulis has the body type to be a sleeper prospect in terms of playing collegiately. Hantsoulis buys time for himself as he scrambles and runs behind the line of scrimmage. This throws, however, look effortless - almost as if he is throwing a javelin (something he does very well, apparently) - achieving Vertical air distance of roughly 55 yards routinely. Still, I do not think Hantsoulis truly gets his all on his throws. He generally places the ball in good position for his teammates to accrue yards after the catch, while having an uncanny ability to evade both sacks and pressure alike - often looking instinctive when doing so.</p>     <figure class="wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter"><div class="wp-block-embed__wrapper"> https://twitter.com/MarkosKouludi2/status/1810429922558857443 </div></figure>    <p class="text-gray-700">A linebacker, [player_tooltip player_id='821231' first='Matt' last='Bonczek'] is a prospect that flies around all around the field. In what I have scouted for the 2025 rankings, few 'backers have the acceleration and speed that match Bonczek's. Furthermore, Bonczek turns said speed and acceleration into power, generating a lot of force when tackling in the process. Not just a forceful tackler, he also gets low when doing so. He is a trusty quarterback spy who flies down hill and can run with wheel routes and get sideline to sideline. When engaging with linemen, Bonczek seems to play with better pad level and apply that force he generates to wedge separation.</p>     <figure class="wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter"><div class="wp-block-embed__wrapper"> https://twitter.com/BonczekMatt48/status/1816308746588414334 </div></figure>    <p class="text-gray-700">For some time now I have been belling you about [player_tooltip player_id='1189138' first='Matthew' last='Scerbo'], a recent Sacred Heart commit. Outstanding when selling double moves (which is something he does often), Scerbo uses his head to sell the fake. More of a strider, he gains a lot of ground with each step he takes. High pointing the ball and using his hands are two things he is also exceptional at. Scerbo has good vision with the ball in his hands and sells crack blocks well, only to release and get open. </p>     <figure class="wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter"><div class="wp-block-embed__wrapper"> https://twitter.com/MatthewScerbojr/status/1807816714760921163 </div></figure>    <p class="text-gray-700">A very good player in his own right, [player_tooltip player_id='343146' first='Phillip' last='Folmar'] from Delbarton is a receiver to be reckoned with. Getting to his top speed extremely quickly, Folmar is used as a receiver and a back out of the backfield. Blessed with the ability to change directions well, he can break defenders with the most subtle movement due to his speed. Folmar also understands the nuance of playing receiver, getting defenders to flip their hips and chase. Deep bombs are not all that he does, however. We see that Folmar can find soft spots in the zone and sit, wait, haul in the catch, and get up field quickly. As I watched more film, Folmar was more and more impressive breaking tackles, doing so at a higher rate than I initially was led to believe. As contact is made he will protect the ball, while also showing he can high point and use his hands as needed. </p>     <figure class="wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter"><div class="wp-block-embed__wrapper"> https://twitter.com/philfolmar23/status/1818437431948869742 </div></figure>    <p class="text-gray-700">Caldwell's [player_tooltip player_id='1040427' first='Michael' last='Mignone'] is an instinctual linebacker who seems to find ways to get many clean shots on ball carriers. Physical when dealing with perimeter blockers, he understands gap leverage and where his help is. Mignone is trusted in space to cover and defend as well, shown as he will settle in his zone and read the quarterbacks eyes. Mignone has shown the ability to run with targets way down field and not get beat. </p>     <figure class="wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter"><div class="wp-block-embed__wrapper"> https://twitter.com/mikemmignone/status/1795141117660238236 </div></figure>    <p>One of the top three prospects in the state, the [player_tooltip player_id='902928' first='Michael' last='Troutman'] showed both James Franklin and I why he is a top recruit in the state. Troutman does an outstanding job picking up blitzers, getting hands on them and drives them. Should he get stood up, Troutman has the body control to anchor and refit his hands, thwarting any momentum in the process. On his initial drive block Troutman possesses exceptional pad level. Power is not the only component to his game, however. Troutman has shown he has two really quick first steps when asked to execute zone concepts. Defensively, we see Troutman play with appropriate depth to avoid creases in the front, while also getting hands on the man in front of him - working to extend, get his hips forward and jolt offensive linemen back. </p>     <figure class="wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter"><div class="wp-block-embed__wrapper"> https://twitter.com/troutman3x/status/1756740462889566656 </div></figure>
