2026 Defensive Back [player_tooltip player_id='1177551' first='Niko' last='Jandreau'] is a versatile defensive weapon Hamilton aims to utilize for their upcoming season. At a broad 6'1 185lb frame, he played primarily at strong safety for the Huskies, playing from depth and from the box. As a sophomore, he was able to bring in 51 total tackles, 31 of those as solo tackles, 3 TFLs, 12 pass deflections, and 2 INTs. Reading run best from the box, he is able to soar through his gap with good recognition, breaking down and going in for the tackle. His long range speed and agility as a secondary player are impressive, able to track down ball carriers for limited gains and locate the ball when thrown in the passing game. Jandreau is now gearing up for his junior year, seeking to build off his outstanding success last season.

2026 Defensive Back Kingtson Spivey is all business when it comes to locking down receivers on the defensive side of the ball. He is nimble yet incredible athletic at corner. A fluid athlete, able to twist and move his body around defenders for the pass deflections. The stats don't lie, as he had 16 total tackles, 2 TFLs, and 6 pass deflections in his previous season while missing a few games. He is remarkable when playing through the wide receiver to the ball, being disruptive and aggressive but at the same time not drawing any penalties. His size does not limit him, as he can play against physically tall wide receivers or smaller fast receivers and still get the job done. Spivey heading into his junior year campaign aims to be a major contributor on the backend of this Hamilton Defense.

The biggest transfer pick up in the state this offseason was 2025 Athlete [player_tooltip player_id='368906' first='Dajon' last='Hinton']. Among more in the company who made the switch from Saguaro to Hamilton, he can play all three phases of football but projects as a defensive back at the next level. Though he did not play his junior season, some statistics from Hinton's 2022 season at Saguaro were 25 catches for 457 yards and 4 total touchdowns on offense, along with 12 total tackles, 2 pass deflections, and an INT on defense. Hinton's greatest asset is his speed, as it is in a league of its own when he gets going and out into the open field because nobody is going to catch him. His ball skills are impeccable, a valuable attribute for both sides of the football as he can always track and reel in the catch or interception. It will be interesting to see how Hamilton will use the University of Arizona commit in 2024. But if they can even remotely get the same production from his 2022 season, this team will become much more dynamic.

One last player from the collection of Saguaro to Hamilton transfers to feature will be 2025 Defensive Back [player_tooltip player_id='954391' first='Fred' last='Parsons']. He is an additional piece to massively upgrade their secondary, as he can play safety but is more suited for the strong safety position. In his junior year at Saguaro, Parsons brought in 47 total tackles, 30 of those as solo tackles, 2 pass deflections, and an INT. Parsons at strong safety has the ability to run through and tackle the ball carrier, coming downhill with excellent violence and strength to deliver his hits. He communicates with his teammates effectively in coverage, adjusting to the offensive formation while diagnosing very well in his zone. Parsons heads into a senior season looking to be the finishing touch to compile an elite secondary to contend with in the state.

Another piece to this loaded Hamilton secondary will be 2026 Defensive Back Marquis Richardson. He played mainly at the safety position for the Huskies defense last season and caused a lot of confusion for opposing offenses. Some notable stats from his sophomore year included 54 total tackles, 17 of those as solo tackles, and 13 pass deflections. Richardson's range, especially from a one-high deep look is special, able to quickly get to either sideline aiding in any vertical threats downfield. He is incredibly disruptive at the catch point, driving through the receiver's hands with his shoulder or lengthy arms to prevent a completion downfield. If Richardson can continue to play just as well from the one high safety position, this Hamilton defense can get very creative with its play calls.

A unique brother duo that we will have among this Hamilton team on the defensive side of the ball is 2026 Linebacker [player_tooltip player_id='1177560' first='Beau' last='Jandreau']. Brother of Niko, Beau plays a different position as opposed to his brother at the middle linebacker position, despite their similar builds. Last season, he brought in 43 total tackles, 23 of those being solo tackles, 5 TFLs, and a sack. While his brother is more of the secondary cover player, Beau is more of the box player, relying on his keen instincts and sharp quickness to locate the ball carrier. All he needs is an inch of daylight, and he will stick his nose into the traffic and make the tackle. Beau recently received a few D1 offers, such as one from Arizona. A nice junior year campaign should help Beau propel himself as one of the best backers in the state.

2025 Defensive Lineman [player_tooltip player_id='1353857' first='Ben' last='Jones'] has a knack for getting to QBs and always being around the ball. Standing at a solid 6'1 225 lbs, he lined up mainly at the edge position but did see a few snaps as a defensive tackle on the interior. Some significant stats from last season were his 61 total tackles, 24 of those as solo tackles, 11 TFLs, and 9 hurries. He effortlessly plays in opponents' backfields, especially on passing downs, coming in at great angles of pursuit and knocking down QBs. When he is in the middle of the field, he owns that space with intuitive awareness to find the direction of the play and wrap up the ball carrier. Jones is an X-factor guy who has fallen under the radar for this Hamilton team, but he will be a big reason for their success, especially on the defensive side.

A pivotal player who will have to step up for this Hamilton team is 2025 Defensive Lineman Christopher Warner. Warner played as a two-player on both the offensive and defensive line in 2023 for the Huskies but could be a spectacular fit to play more on the interior defensive line, especially at his 6'2 300lb frame. On both sides of the ball, Warner displays athleticism and agility to move very efficiently for his size. He also shows promise from his interior rush, showing good use of hands and a nice selection of pass rush moves to hurry QBs. Whatever way Hamilton decides to use Warner this upcoming season, he is a key player to winning the trenches up front for this team.
