The Coon Rapids Cardinals have been a hotbed for talent over the last few seasons, producing elite athletes like Khijohnn Cummings-Coleman. While their 2-7 finish in the previous season didn't leave them with the best taste in their mouth, they look to rebound in 2024 with this group of talented prospects. Meet the 2024 Coon Rapids Cardinals!

WR: [player_tooltip player_id='1582440' first='Gavin' last='Sayadeth'] 6'4" 200 lbs 2025

An absolute unit of a prospect who is ready for his elevation to the varsity roster, Sayadeth enters his senior season in a perfect position to take over a large role in the Cardinals offense. He may not have any film available yet, but with documented 4.6 speed and his giant frame, Sayadeth could be a difficult threat to counter during his senior year.

DL: Jacoby Peterson 6'2" 270 lbs 2025

A returning All-Conference defensive lineman, Peterson ended his junior year with 26 TTck, 4.0 Sacks, 1 FR, and 3 FF. Because of this, he's earned offers from UW River-Falls and Luther. The big man is a wrecking ball off of the edge, with quickness you don't often find from a prospect of his size. Peterson clogs up run lanes with the best of them, often not even a double team can move him from his gap. He's got multiple plays on his tape of him hawking down ball carriers on quick screens showcasing his impressive movement. His offers will likely continue to stack up throughout what many anticipate to be an extremely productive senior campaign.

DB: Lance Hill 5'9" 165 lbs 2025

Hill returns after playing a lot during a productive junior season that saw him tally 27 TTck and 1 FF as a safety. In his junior film, Hill showcases excellent pursuit and solid tackling form. However, he already has some senior tape out courtesy of some summer scrimmages, and he looks far more complete as a prospect. In Hill's latest tape, he possesses far more fluid hip movement and seems to have gotten much more adept at reading the quarterback. Early on Hill looks like a solid under-the-radar prospect that would shine in MIAC competition.

LB: Samson LeClaire 6'1" 190 lbs 2025

Following an elite performance during his junior year where LeClaire amassed an incredibly impressive 71 TTck, 3.0 Sacks, 2 FR, and 1 FF, he looks to build on that during a highly anticipated senior season. He doesn't have a ton of tape available, but what he does have is high-level. Throughout his junior tape, LeClaire consistently meets ball-carriers in the gap at the line of scrimmage, and when he does he lights them up. If he produces more tape, with his speed and frame, I think he has NSIC potential written all over him.

DB: Cody Dagogo 5'10" 180 lbs 2026

Dagogo saw minimal varsity time as a sophomore, only recording 2 TTck, but he's been hitting the weight room hard and his previous season's film has a lot to like. He often showcases impressive recovery if he gets beat off the LOS and disrupts passes with his hands, even persistently attacking the ball after it enters the receiver's arms. I'd love to see Dagogo earn a varsity position and have his recruiting blow up.

RB: [player_tooltip player_id='490197' first='Danny' last='Scheller'] 5'11" 180 lbs 2026

Scheller is perhaps one of the most exciting prospects on the Cardinal's roster next season. He led the team in both rushing yards (443) and rushing touchdowns (3) and while he gets plenty of attention for his talents on the diamond, he's a bonafide football prospect as well. Scheller finished fourth in receiving yards last season and possesses many traits that you'd expect from a high-level athlete. Boasting solid speed and excellent vision with the ball in his hands, Scheller has a knack for finding openings in defenses. Heading into his junior year I'm super excited to see if Scheller picks up where he left off and continues to build on an impressive resume of film.

LB: [player_tooltip player_id='592124' first='Kammren' last='Cummings-Coleman'] 6'1" 235 lbs 2026

The younger brother of one of the best prospects to come out of Coon Rapids, [player_tooltip player_id='592124' first='Kammren' last='Cummings-Coleman'] looks to follow in his older brother's footsteps with a breakout junior season. As a middle linebacker, it's immediately evident on his tape that he hits like a truck when tackling. He's had some success on the camp circuit this summer and on a team that graduated a large part of their defense, could very easily see some varsity time, if not start in 2024.

LB: Dorion Solares 5'11" 190 lbs 2025

Fresh off of receiving his first offer from the University of Dubuque, Solares has looked electric through the little bit of scrimmage film he's put out from this summer. While he doesn't have any other film available at the moment, expect Solares to play a larger role during his senior season with the Cardinals.
