URI Football Camp Notes "D1 Rising Prospects"

On June 20, 2024 University of Rhode Island Football held its third and final high school football camp of the year. The camp had roughly 160 campers in attendance. In this report, I will share 5 prospects from class of 2026 & 2027 that stood out as worthy rising recruitable college prospects to dive into now. These players all stood out and made a long lasting impression as potential Division 1 college caliber prospects.    Class of 2027 | WR | Saint Raphael Academy | 5'9″ | 158 lbs | Wingspan 74.5′   40 yard dash – 4.63 seconds   Brendan is a rising sophomore that will likely play varsity this fall at St. Raphael Academy in Pawtucket, Rhode island. He has great speed (4.63) already as a sophomore. He is an elusive athlete with three more years ahead of him to continue to develop and evolve. He is definitely a player you will want to keep an eye on this fall. He won the fastest man at the camp competition. During drill periods he proved to have reliable hands to go with his elite speed. I honestly don't recall him dropping any passes thrown his way. He caught everything thrown at him during individual drill period showing off his strong hands. He stood out during the camp the most in a competitive live 1v1 tackle drill between offense and defense. He showed off his ability to get to the ball carrier and make open field tackles when in 1 on 1 situations. He is a physical corner with good speed. He was one of the fastest Defensive Backs at the entire camp, running a 4.68 second 40 yard dash. He will be a prospect to keep an eye on this fall. Trey has a college prototype wide receiver frame. He will pass the eye test immediately. He is a true 2026 (no reclass) with a huge ceiling. Excellent hands, fast and can go up and get it in jump ball situations. This kid is has so much potential. He played as a sophomore at Tabor and contributed to the offense in his first season there. Im predicting him to have a breakout Junior season this year and make his name known to a lot of Division 1 Schools. He plays at Middlesex School in Massachusetts. He stands out immediately with his lengthy athletic frame. At the camp he stood out in the drill period with the Defensive Backs showing off his elusive playmaking ability from the defensive side of the ball. Has good feet, hips & hands. He high points the ball naturally going up and attacking the ball at its highest point every chance he got. I can see him playing on either side of the ball. He is the definition of an athlete for sure. He will most likely take on a role on either offense or defense this year if not both at Middlesex. Romy really spins the ball with the best of them. At the camp he showed off his strong but very accurate arm. His ability to move in and out the pocket making accurate throws was on full display during individual drill period. During the 1v1 segment he placed balls accurately and precisely to just about every receiver he threw to. Romy is a reclass Junior who will be attending Loomis this fall for the first year. He is expected to be the starter this season and will be worth keeping an eye on throughout the season for sure.
