Sights and Sounds: West Mesa 7x7 Jamboree

The West Mesa Mustangs hosted a six-team 7-on-7 Jamboree Thursday night at WMHS. Del Norte, Legacy Academy, Rio Grande, St. Pius X and Valley also participated.

Couple of notes: Valley QB Julian Butkivich Julian Butkivich 6'0" | 170 lbs | QB Valley | 2025 State NM already looks in mid-season form. Butkivich was throwing darts all over the field. Valley's young WR corps is impressive. If the Valley OL can protect Butkivich, he could enjoy a monster senior season. . .West Mesa's QB competition between Dominic Lucero Dominic Lucero 5'7" | 140 lbs | QB West Mesa | 2025 State NM and Hayden Nichols appears to be a tight, hard-fought battle six weeks before kickoff. Both quarterbacks flashed their skills on Thursday night with pinpoint throws.
