Burras is a dangerous dual threat QB with the ability to takeover the game on his feet, as he possesses excellent twitch and COD to frequently put opponents on skates and showcases his top end speed to finish big plays. It doesn't matter if it's a designed QB run or a judgement call to abandon the pass and takeoff, as Burras is legitimately a threat every single time he runs. Not as mechanically sound in the pocket as a passer, but does throw with good placement and will always give his WR's a shot to make a play. Regardless, his speed and athleticism alone provides him with a huge upside over the average 2A football player, as he is a clear preseason OPOY candidate.

Nathan Harris, Santa Cruz Valley '25

Harris put up nearly 2,400 yards and 30 TD's through the air last year and 5 TD's on the ground. He sizes up with a sturdy, durable frame at 6'2" 185lbs and possesses really good pocket mechanics. Love this kid's poise and demeanor as he is unfazed by pressure or chaos around him, always remaining cool, calm, and collected. Smooth release with the ability to throw with both velocity and touch, and had numerous tight window throw where he fit it in perfectly with great timing. Really high ceiling for this kid in 2024 as I think he's going to take an even bigger leap and see the game slow down for him more as a Sr.

[player_tooltip player_id='1145536' first='Vern' last='Wolfley'], Trivium Prep '25

Wolfley is a two-way game changer that put up 1,990 yards passing with 23 TD's and only 1 INT. Along with that, he ran for almost 1,200 yards and 14 TD's. Really smart good with a tremendous football IQ, which contributes clearly to his decision making and ball security. He did a great job identifying mismatches pre-snap at the LOS to know where he's going with the ball. He throws with really good touch and trajectory on a 3-ball, but also flashed the ability to drive the ball downfield with velocity. As pure of a football player as you're going to see, and I think he will end up being a steal as an "ATH" for a D3 or NAIA school.

Gil Camacho, Highland Prep '25

Camacho comes off a really impressive junior season, throwing for 2,200 yards and 23 TD's. He sizes up with a 6'2" 180lb frame and possesses solid poise and patience in the pocket for a first year starter. He throws with anticipation and timing, as he did a great job throwing with touch to connect on those vertical routes. He flashed the ability to deliver accurate throws on the move and seems to have a good understanding of zone coverages. I think we could see him light up 3,000 yards here in 2024.

[player_tooltip player_id='368966' first='Sebastian' last='Lopez'], Bisbee '25

Lopez was a spark for Bisbee, breaking over 1,800 yards passing and 1,000 yards rushing in 2023 with 32 total TD's (12 passing and 20 rushing). Although his dynamic ability is impressive, he is going to have to take a big leap in maturity and do a better job making decisive reads and not forcing the ball, as he threw 13 INT's this year. The athletic ability is all there for Lopez as he enters another season as the starter, and if he can put the mental piece together and take care of the ball, Bisbee will be hard to beat and he'll be an easy front runner for OPOY.
