Quarterbacks to Know

In Alabama, there are some outstanding signal-callers that will be making a name for themselves this fall. From leading the offense to inspiring their teammates, the quarterback's impact extends far beyond the stats, shaping the tone of the 2024 season.    We feature a pair of quarterbacks with the same name and we lead off with the Hartselle version of [player_tooltip player_id='1640353' first='Noah' last='Lee']. Last fall, Lee stepped in after the starting QB was injured and directed the Lions' offense to perfection. Lee is a "Winner" and will do whatever is necessary to make his team successful. As a receiver, Lee has posted 284 yards in receptions. He has also rushed for another 217 yards. Last season, Lee was 82 of 148 for 732 yards. With an off-season spent at quarterback, look for Lee to be even more impressive in 2024.     The second [player_tooltip player_id='1640353' first='Noah' last='Lee'] is a junior at Jacksonville Christian Academy, who is a hot name in recruiting right now. At 6'3" 195-pounds, Lee has a strong and accurate arm, He also brings high football IQ and doesn't make costly mistakes. Last season, Lee was 114 of 165 passing including 31 touchdowns and only 2 interceptions. He accounted for more than 2000 yards in only 9 games. Lee has offers from Jax State and Samford. More should follow over the next couple of seasons.     One of the more intriguing transitions will be at Central High School of Clay County. Deshaun Gibbons is a next-level defensive cornerback that draws the opponent's most explosive receiver. After two seasons of locking down the opponent's top weapon, Gibbons will start at quarterback for the Volunteers this fall. Nicknamed "Soap", he has been very impressive throughout the summer showing great arm strength and accuracy. Gibbons' anticipation in reading the defense shows that he is ready to lead the offense into the 2024 season.     One of the top quarterbacks in the nation will take the field at Lamar Field in Oxford. [player_tooltip player_id='495323' first='Mason' last='Mims'] enters his third season as the Oxford starter. Ranked as a 4-Star quarterback, Mims has pinpoint accuracy and recently challenged the nation's top-ranked players in several camps. Over the past two seasons, Mims has passed for 4,765 yards and 51 touchdowns. He has also completed 71% of his passes. Holding several offers, Mims committed to Louisville over the summer and remains loyal to the Cardinals.     After starting at Wicksburg for the past two seasons, Burkhardt transferred to Enterprise in January. The 6'2" lefty has incredible accuracy and reads defenses with ease. That has only improved this summer as he has acclimated to his new teammates. In five summer camps, Burkhardt went 308 of 472 and tossed 89 touchdowns. After passing for over 2100 yards in his career, Burkhardt looks primed for an exciting fall. With 4.75 speed, he has the ability to avoid the rush and cash in on big plays downfield. Burkhardt's addition makes Enterprise a very dangerous team in 2024.
