The Forest Park Bruins may be on to a special season over in Woodbridge, coming off a first round playoff exit they sure seem hungry for more. Returning a number of starters including a pair of division 1 offensive lineman, Coach Robinette's squad has a District title on their mind.

It has been mentioned many times before that Forest Park has perhaps the biggest (and possibly best) offensive line in the state and Virginia Tech Commit [player_tooltip player_id='1228338' first='Nathaniel' last='Wright'] is out leading the way. The mammoth tackle committed to the Hokies last month on his 17th birthday as Coach Pry continues his impressive haul of in state talent.

Wright has been on many Power Coaches radars for the past few seasons and will be the bookend tackle with the Bruins power rushing attack. The highest ranked in Prince William County at 24th overall, I could see him playing guard or tackle in the ACC next season.

About a week before Wright made his commitment top ranked guard [player_tooltip player_id='1230162' first='Brandon' last='Edozie'] had announced his intentions to sign with Liberty University. Before you ask, yes Forest Park currently has two FBS committed offensive lineman and may have 1 or 2 more by seasons end.

Edozie is a bull and when the Bruins send him out on a kick out block you can see his athleticism on full display. Another reason why Forest Park lead the Cardinal District in rushing yards and had the first back go over 1,000 yards last year.

The Leading rusher in the Cardinal District is back for what should be a monster senior season. [player_tooltip player_id='1231470' first='Landon' last='Hunt'] lead the way for the Bruins last year averaging 6.3 yards per carry and nearly 1,500 yards on the ground. He literally carried them offensively as a Junior all the way the way to the playoffs.

What people may not know about Hunt is that he is an excellent receiver out of the backfield and he displayed that at our showcase and many other off-season events. I would like for Coach Robinette to find more ways to get him the football this year as teams know now that he cannot sneak up on them.

Perhaps a bit overlooked by the stars the Bruins have on offense, but middle linebacker [player_tooltip player_id='1232109' first='Evan' last='Weekes'] is too good to ignore. Weekes will be the most likely third member of this senior class that will be division 1 bound and he has two offers already.

At 6'3 and 215 lbs. he is a force coming off blocks and corralling the ball carrier, numerous times I saw him both in person and on tape knock opposing blockers to their backside. In my opinion he is a power 5 linebacker but will see if more schools come calling.

A good outside linebacker who quietly had himself a nice sophomore campaign is [player_tooltip player_id='1297966' first='Antonio' last='Jones']. While [player_tooltip player_id='1232109' first='Evan' last='Weekes'] takes most of the tackles, Jones makes plays in coverage and tracking down running backs. He is a quick/fast backer with good vision and footwork, it is going to be hard to find holes in the Bruins defense.

Season Outlook:

Since their 2023 season ended the Forest Park Bruins have been on a mission, win the Cardinal District. They should be the favorites this fall and there is no reason not to believe they cannot make a deep playoff run. They're schedule does not do them any favors right off the bat with a trip to powerhouse Mountain View in Week 1 followed by welcoming a competitive Riverbend squad. How they fare in both outings will go a long way to determine whether or not they are more than just one and done in the playoffs.
