PRZPA Team Preview, Manheim Township

<p><strong>Season Outlook</strong>: Manheim Township had this special season last year where they started 12-0 on the year, but it ended in a thud when they lost to Harrisburg 34-28 in overtime. It was a bitter defeat for the Senior-Laden Township team, but they had a great season. They lost a ton of great players, but they will still return a good core of players to compete for another League and District Title.</p>   <p><strong>Current Head Coach</strong>: Mark Evans </p>   <p><strong>Top returning prospects for the 2024 season</strong>:</p>    <p class="text-gray-700">[player_tooltip player_id='1317148' first='Spencer' last='McClintock'] is a talented offensive lineman. He has great size and moves well for his size as well. He has good strength and just locks onto defenders and bullies them off the ball. McClintock has a ton of potential and should improve more going into his Senior year. His recruitment has finally started to pick up. Below is what my colleague [player_tooltip player_id='1156407' first='Vic' last='Castillo'] said about him earlier this year: </p>   <p>" I somehow missed on a massive OL prospect out of Manheim Township, a 6'5, 250-pound 2025 with equally massive potential. Gladly, Stony Brook University did their homework in an area of Pennsylvania where they recruit well. Stony Brook would offer McClintock, his first Division One scholarship opportunity. Worth mentioning that Wheeling University was first to offer the giant tackle a week prior, not every prospect goes to the highest bidder. He plays as a running back, but he also has a good ability to catch the ball. Clancy is special with the ball in his hands. He has a great ability to make defenders miss, especially in space. He also has good speed and he just runs past defenders. Clancy also has good hands and catches the ball well out of the backfield. I can see Clancy playing as a slot receiver at times this season for Township. Clancy has started to visit some colleges and I expect he get some offers coming his way shortly. </p>    <figure class="wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter"><div class="wp-block-embed__wrapper"> https://twitter.com/DeclanClancy3/status/1778781467427930441 </div></figure>    <p class="text-gray-700">[player_tooltip player_id='386222' first='Donovan' last='Rodriguez'] is a legit defensive player for Township. He played mostly as a defensive back last year, but I expect he play more this season on offense as well. At defensive back, he has good coverage skills. He has the speed and athleticism to stay in front of receivers and then make a play on the ball thrown his way. He also is a good tackler in the open field. His recruiting is starting to pick up with offers from Maine and St. Francis. I expect more to come his way. Below is what my colleague [player_tooltip player_id='1156407' first='Vic' last='Castillo'] said about him earlier this year:</p>   <p>"This is an evaluation hit, wasn't expecting to hear Manheim Township's <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='386222' first='Donovan' last='Rodriguez']</strong>‘s name this early into the Summer, yet his tape and skillset warrant the love out of Maine. Ranked inside the top 20 at his position, narrowly missed placing inside out Top150 this past 2025 update (December). Huge congrats from us to Rodriguez, who should see more FCS love pour in. He has positional versatility and can play as both a slot receiver and an outside receiver. Township also moved him around formations and in motion. He is good after the catch by making defenders miss in space. He also has the speed to run by defenders. Haberbosch has excellent hands and does a good job going down and making difficult catches. Haberbosch is a talented playmaker at wide receiver who should only get better going into this season.</p>    <figure class="wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter"><div class="wp-block-embed__wrapper"> https://twitter.com/lex_haberbosch/status/1799880474602684570 </div></figure>    <p class="text-gray-700">[player_tooltip player_id='915498' first='Thomas' last='Capizzi'] has great positional versatility for Township. He played as an offensive tackle, linebacker, and defensive end last year. At offensive tackle, he is undersized but makes up for it with his aggressive play. He fires off the ball and hits defenders with all his force. He moves his feet well and excels at pass blocking. At linebacker, he is a bell-cow who makes a ton of tackles all over the field. He reads his keys well and attacks the offense. Capizzi is a good player who plays an even bigger role this season. </p>     <p class="text-gray-700">[player_tooltip player_id='316621' first='Carson' last='Weisser'] has been stuck behind talented quarterback [player_tooltip player_id='914950' first='Hayden' last='Johnson'] who has now graduated and is on Lehigh's roster. Weisser will have a good chance to start at quarterback for Township. From his film, you can see he has excellent mechanics and can make all the throws. He has good footwork in the pocket. He is also a good athlete. He several times ran for big plays on designed rushing plays in Junior Varsity games. Weisser should get a fair chance to start and if he does I expect him to play well.</p>    <figure class="wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter"><div class="wp-block-embed__wrapper"> https://twitter.com/CarsonWeisser/status/1801356798814769650 </div></figure>    <p class="text-gray-700">[player_tooltip player_id='855277' first='Stewars' last='Jaquez'] played as a defensive back last season. He showed good coverage skills as a deep safety. He does a nice job of dropping in his zone to take away the deep pass and then still take control of the passes thrown shorter. When the ball is then thrown in his direction he does a good job of getting his hands on the balls to knock them down. He is also a good tackler, who rarely misses a tackle. Jaquez has a good skill set for a defensive back. </p>     <p class="text-gray-700">[player_tooltip player_id='1156080' first='Daryus' last='Dixon'] has limited film from last year but showed he has a ton of potential as a wide receiver and as a defensive back. At wide receiver, he has good speed and he can run past defenders. He can be used on jet sweeps where he runs with the ball. He also catches the ball well in space and can defenders miss. He also has a good ability to track and catch deep balls. At defensive back, he shows good coverage skills. Dixon should be a bigger contributor this season for Township.</p>    <figure class="wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter"><div class="wp-block-embed__wrapper"> https://twitter.com/2626daryus/status/1797781434838430000 </div></figure>    <p class="text-gray-700">[player_tooltip player_id='1466396' first='Greg' last='Gillespie'] played as a guard last year for Township. He has a good combination of strength and athleticism for an offensive lineman. He moves well for the position. He is excellent at pulling and kicking out defenders. He moves his feet well and stays in front of defenders pass-blocking. Gissepie is a good offensive lineman.</p>     <p class="text-gray-700">[player_tooltip player_id='1257990' first='Jack' last='Kenneff'] is another talented quarterback for Township. It will be a battle between him and [player_tooltip player_id='316621' first='Carson' last='Weisser'] at the QB position. He is like a machine in the pocket. He does a great job sitting in the pocket and picking a part of the defense. He has good mechanics and sets his feet well to throw the ball. He has a strong arm and can throw the ball into tight windows. Kenneff has all the tools to be a quarterback next season. </p>     <p class="text-gray-700">John Morales is on track to be the starting kicker for Manheim Township this year. Last year he was primarily used as a kickoff expert. He averaged 52 yards on his kickoffs with 9 touchbacks. He was also 10 for 10 on extra points. Morales has a chance to be a consistent kicker for Manheim Township this season. </p>    <figure class="wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter"><div class="wp-block-embed__wrapper"> https://twitter.com/itstony141/status/1781768807985430801 </div></figure>    <p class="text-gray-700">[player_tooltip player_id='941155' first='Malakai' last='Minguez'] played on junior varsity last year for Manheim Township. He played as an outside linebacker and as an offensive lineman last year. At both positions, he shows good athleticism and strength. As an outside linebacker, he shows a good ability to read his keys and attack downhill. He also did a nice job dropping in coverage and making tackles in the open field. He also played as an offensive lineman where he showed good movement and an ability to block defensive linemen. Minguez should be a contributor this season for Manheim Township.</p>     <p class="text-gray-700">Owen Marks film is some of the best film I have seen of a center in a long time. He does a good job of snapping the ball and flying around to make blocks. He moves well and his ability to block on screens and downfield is impressive for a center. He does a good job of moving his feet and blocking as a pass blocker. He also does a good job of blocking on double-team blocks against defensive tackles. Marks is a good center who has the potential to play College Football.</p>     <p class="text-gray-700">[player_tooltip player_id='1619133' first='Will' last='Milazzo'] played guard last year for Township. He shows a good ability to fire off the ball from his stance and start. He moves well and does a nice job pulling. He pulls and knocks defensive ends off the ball. He does a nice job of blocking defensive tackles and then peeling off to block linebackers. Milazzo showed a lot of promise last year and should only improve next season.</p>    <p><strong>Season Outlook</strong>: I doubt Manheim Township will start 12-0 this season like they did last year, but I still think they will be a good football team. Mark Evens is a good coach and always gets the most out of his teams. They have a nice mix of skilled kids and linemen returning, so if they can figure out the quarterback position they should be good.</p>
