Defensive Prospects on the Rise

<p>Prep Redzone is continually searching for rising prospects who are yet to be discovered and offered, those who have the potential to make a significant impact. These prospects may excel in versatility, dominate in one position, and possess the talent to compete at the next level, be it FBS, FCS, DII, DIII, NAIA, or JUCO. With this in mind, here are five defensive prospects to keep an eye on in 2024:</p>    <p class="text-gray-700">[player_tooltip player_id='1324992' first='Cayden' last='Dye'] displays solid quickness off the line of scrimmage, demonstrating good use of hands to create leverage and quickly disengage from blocks, allowing him to make plays in the backfield. Roblee displays good read and react ability, quickly breaking on the football and arriving at the catch point with good foot quickness, change of direction and fluidity while in man or zone coverage, forcing multiple PBU's and turnovers. He doesn't allow much room for separation. He demonstrates solid footwork and quickness, allowing him to backpedal quickly and transition smoothly while sticking with his man in coverage. Cubit displays explosive power off the snap, with good foot quickness, hand placement to create leverage, complemented by a rip move, and good pad level that enables him to penetrate the backfield quickly. He demonstrates a strong lower body and the reach to overpower the offensive line, pushing them back into the pocket. His ability to outmaneuver the offensive line almost immediately after the snap, against both the run and pass, is impressive. An X-Factor that excels at tackling in open. He displays quick diagnostic skills that enable him to react to the ball quickly, arrive at the catch point, and force a pass break-up (PBU). His hip fluidity allows good transitions, helping him stick with his man. Wilson's controlled change of direction and fluidity help him maintain close coverage, either inside the hip pocket or over the top during breaks and demonstrates good feel in zone coverage at the back end.
