PRZPA Team Preview, Manheim Central

<p><strong>Last Season Update: </strong>Manheim Central went 11-2 last year including winning Section 2 of the Lancaster-Lebabon League. They lost to Cocalico during week 3 and then ripped off 9 straight wins until they eventually lost to Bishop McDevitt 23-17 in the District 3 4A Title Game. They led Bishop McDevitt until the 4th quarter when they ultimately got defeated. Manheim Central was a Senior leader team last year so they will replace many talented players. I still expect Manheim Central to be a good team and compete for another Lancaster-Lebanon League Title.</p>   <p><strong>Current Head Coach</strong>: Dave Hahn (Entering 9th year) </p>   <p><strong>Key returning players for the 2024 season: </strong></p>    <p class="text-gray-700">Asher Cook played as a defensive back for Manheim Central last year. He showed he was good in coverage. He played zone defense well by covering balls thrown in his direction. Then he showed good ball skills by getting his hands on the passes thrown in his direction. He also did a nice job in run support by going upfield and making tackles in the open field. With the loss of several wide receivers from last year's team, I expect Cook to play that position as well for Manheim Central this season. </p>    <figure class="wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter"><div class="wp-block-embed__wrapper"> https://twitter.com/asher8cook/status/1734334988059889980 </div></figure>    <p class="text-gray-700">Hunter Garber played as a guard and tackle for Manheim Central last year. As an offensive lineman, he does a good job of being in his stance and firing off the ball. He is excellent as a run blocker, as Garber can engage and drive defensive players off the ball. He also moves his feet well. Garber did a good job last year and I expect he will continue to grow this upcoming season. </p>    <p><a href="https://www.hudl.com/profile/18086978/hunter-garber">Hunter Garber - Hudl</a></p>    <p class="text-gray-700">[player_tooltip player_id='916967' first='Tyler' last='Groff'] is a good two-way lineman for Manheim Central. Groff played as both an offensive tackle and a defensive tackle. At offensive tackle, he does a good job of firing out of his stance and blocking. He is a good athlete that can be moved around from his tackle position. He moves his feet well to stay in front of defensive players. On defense, he is a good defensive tackle that is hard to block. He also has a motor that never quits and he is constantly chasing plays all over the field. Groff is a good lineman on both sides of the ball. </p>     <p class="text-gray-700">[player_tooltip player_id='769151' first='Zion' last='Rolon'] is a legit prospect at linebacker for Manheim Central. He is a heat-seeking missile at linebacker. The way he attacks downhill against the offense is impressive. He does a great job of reading, reacting, and then attacking downhill. He also has good pass-rushing skills. You can move him all over the field and blitz him from many different angles. He is also a sideline-to-sideline player. Rolon can chase plays all over the field. Rolon has a lot of potential and I can see him getting on the field as an offensive player as well next season. </p>    <figure class="wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter"><div class="wp-block-embed__wrapper"> https://twitter.com/zion_rolon/status/1729841849425125488 </div></figure>    <p class="text-gray-700">Cody Hess is a good player for Manheim Central who started as an outside linebacker and played as a wide receiver as well last year. As an outside linebacker, he did a great job of recognizing the player and then coming upfield to make a tackle. He was outstanding at tackling, especially in the open field. As a wide receiver, he caught the ball well and showed legit speed. He also showed his willingness to block and he did a nice job with that. Hess is a good football prospect, that I expect will be an even bigger contributor for Manheim Central on offense this season. </p>    <figure class="wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter"><div class="wp-block-embed__wrapper"> https://twitter.com/Hessy_14/status/1732929338314527218 </div></figure>    <p class="text-gray-700">Jayvior Morales had a good year for Manheim Central last year as a defensive back. He played as a safety last year and did an outstanding job in coverage. He did a good job of keeping everything in front of him and then making a play on the ball. When he was tested Morales did a good job of getting his hands on the ball and knocking it down. He was also good as a tackler, by making a ton of tackles in the open field. Last year he made quite an impression when he stepped in for Zac Hahn and threw the winning touchdown against Smyrna in week one. After that game, Zac Hahn returned to action as the quarterback, but Lewis got to sit and learn behind Hahn. Lewis is expected to be the starting quarterback for Manheim Central this season. </p>    <p>Check this play out below:</p>   <p>http://www.hudl.com/v/2LfYqT</p>   <p><strong>Final Thoughts</strong>: Manheim Central lost many players off last year's team, but brings back a core of players that should help them compete for another Lancaster-Lebanon League Section Title. The biggest loss will be the three skills kids Zac Hahn, Aaron Enterline, and Brycen Armold. I expect that many of the defenders from last year's team like [player_tooltip player_id='769151' first='Zion' last='Rolon'], Cody Hess and Jayvor Morales will carry on a bigger offensive load. Manheim Central is led by one of the best coaches in the state Dave Hahn so they will find a way and still have a successful season.</p>
