<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Representing on their home turf on the campus of Clemson University, the South Carolina 7th Grade Future Stars had a pair of practices on the opening day of the Future Stars event week. I was able to catch the second of the two practices, which featured a lot of installation for the offensive line and a ton of 7v7 for the skill position guys vs. the South Carolina 8th Grade Future Stars. Here's a look at who caught my eye.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:acf/evaluation-block {"name":"acf/evaluation-block","data":{"player_evaluations_0_player":["865936"],"_player_evaluations_0_player":"field_62ab9d62ecf2c","player_evaluations_0_override_profile_image":"","_player_evaluations_0_override_profile_image":"override-player-profile-image","player_evaluations_0_not_in_database":"","_player_evaluations_0_not_in_database":"field_62aba48cecf2d","player_evaluations":1,"_player_evaluations":"field_62aba7547dc44"},"mode":"preview","alignText":"left","anchor":"acf-block-666ad810f2562"} --> <!-- wp:paragraph {"placeholder":"Add evaluation here...","className":"text-gray-700"} --> <p class="text-gray-700">Physical defensive linemen that I loved last year and is back again this year. One giant muscle as a tweener Defensive Tackle and Defensive End. Plays fast and physical at all times and only knows one speed. Last year he was essentially unblockable on the defensive line and 365 days later, it's much more of the same. On an offensive-heavy practice, when they did go 11-on-11 he was a tough out.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- /wp:acf/evaluation-block --> <!-- wp:acf/evaluation-block {"name":"acf/evaluation-block","data":{"player_evaluations_0_player":["1301733"],"_player_evaluations_0_player":"field_62ab9d62ecf2c","player_evaluations_0_override_profile_image":"","_player_evaluations_0_override_profile_image":"override-player-profile-image","player_evaluations_0_not_in_database":"","_player_evaluations_0_not_in_database":"field_62aba48cecf2d","player_evaluations":1,"_player_evaluations":"field_62aba7547dc44"},"mode":"preview","alignText":"left","anchor":"acf-block-666ad810f25ba"} --> <!-- wp:paragraph {"placeholder":"Add evaluation here...","className":"text-gray-700"} --> <p class="text-gray-700">Caught my eyes during Linebacker box drills in the first practice of the day, when South Carolina 7th and 8th graders were mixed together. Physically put together like a prospect a year or two older. Great change of direction ability and constantly bounces around--the type of Linebacker that all Offensive Linemen hate to try to block.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- /wp:acf/evaluation-block --> <!-- wp:acf/evaluation-block {"name":"acf/evaluation-block","data":{"player_evaluations_0_player":["232392"],"_player_evaluations_0_player":"field_62ab9d62ecf2c","player_evaluations_0_override_profile_image":["override_image"],"_player_evaluations_0_override_profile_image":"override-player-profile-image","player_evaluations_0_player_featured_image":1301737,"_player_evaluations_0_player_featured_image":"field_62f141137ead9","player_evaluations_0_not_in_database":"","_player_evaluations_0_not_in_database":"field_62aba48cecf2d","player_evaluations":1,"_player_evaluations":"field_62aba7547dc44"},"mode":"preview","alignText":"left","anchor":"acf-block-666ad810f2617"} --> <!-- wp:paragraph {"placeholder":"Add evaluation here...","className":"text-gray-700"} --> <p class="text-gray-700">He threw a bunch of really nice passes during the second practice when South Carolina 7th and 8th graders again combined squads for practice. In fact, he was at the helm for the offense of both grades during the practice. For a kid who just made the switch to playing Quarterback within the last two years, he really impressed me. Threw a number of great passes specifically up the seems and into the flat.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- /wp:acf/evaluation-block --> <!-- wp:acf/evaluation-block {"name":"acf/evaluation-block","data":{"player_evaluations_0_player":["1301735"],"_player_evaluations_0_player":"field_62ab9d62ecf2c","player_evaluations_0_override_profile_image":"","_player_evaluations_0_override_profile_image":"override-player-profile-image","player_evaluations_0_not_in_database":"","_player_evaluations_0_not_in_database":"field_62aba48cecf2d","player_evaluations":1,"_player_evaluations":"field_62aba7547dc44"},"mode":"preview","alignText":"left","anchor":"acf-block-666ad810f2659"} --> <!-- wp:paragraph {"placeholder":"Add evaluation here...","className":"text-gray-700"} --> <p class="text-gray-700">It was an offensive heavy practice during the evening session for the South Carolina Future Stars, with the O-Line going over blocking schemes. When Holley got his (limited) opportunities, he was a violent pass-rusher who used quickness off the edge to make a home in the backfield. I jokingly told him I was happy to no longer see basketball highlights, but it's obvious how the footwork translates from the hardwood to the gridiron.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- /wp:acf/evaluation-block --> <!-- wp:acf/evaluation-block {"name":"acf/evaluation-block","data":{"player_evaluations_0_player":["1301739"],"_player_evaluations_0_player":"field_62ab9d62ecf2c","player_evaluations_0_override_profile_image":"","_player_evaluations_0_override_profile_image":"override-player-profile-image","player_evaluations_0_not_in_database":"","_player_evaluations_0_not_in_database":"field_62aba48cecf2d","player_evaluations":1,"_player_evaluations":"field_62aba7547dc44"},"mode":"preview","alignText":"left","anchor":"acf-block-666ad810f2698"} --> <!-- wp:paragraph {"placeholder":"Add evaluation here...","className":"text-gray-700"} --> <p class="text-gray-700">Doesn't necessarily come with the text book size of a Free Safety, but he covers ground like a prototypical FS does. In the 7v7 portion of practice vs. the South Carolina 8th grade, he made at least three really good plays on the ball to break up passes.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- /wp:acf/evaluation-block --> <!-- wp:acf/evaluation-block {"name":"acf/evaluation-block","data":{"player_evaluations_0_player":["1301740"],"_player_evaluations_0_player":"field_62ab9d62ecf2c","player_evaluations_0_override_profile_image":"","_player_evaluations_0_override_profile_image":"override-player-profile-image","player_evaluations_0_not_in_database":"","_player_evaluations_0_not_in_database":"field_62aba48cecf2d","player_evaluations":1,"_player_evaluations":"field_62aba7547dc44"},"mode":"preview","alignText":"left","anchor":"acf-block-666ad810f26d7"} --> <!-- wp:paragraph {"placeholder":"Add evaluation here...","className":"text-gray-700"} --> <p class="text-gray-700">The amount of times he caught my eye mid-drill when I couldn't interrupt &nbsp;a drill and go talk to him, was easily half a dozen. An excellent combination of power, speed and agility, he made a number of nice plays running the ball in between the tackles. He should also see some time as a Will or Mike Linebacker too, depending on in-game situations.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- /wp:acf/evaluation-block --> <!-- wp:acf/evaluation-block {"name":"acf/evaluation-block","data":{"player_evaluations_0_player":["1301742"],"_player_evaluations_0_player":"field_62ab9d62ecf2c","player_evaluations_0_override_profile_image":"","_player_evaluations_0_override_profile_image":"override-player-profile-image","player_evaluations_0_not_in_database":"","_player_evaluations_0_not_in_database":"field_62aba48cecf2d","player_evaluations":1,"_player_evaluations":"field_62aba7547dc44"},"mode":"preview","alignText":"left","anchor":"acf-block-666ad810f2752"} --> <!-- wp:paragraph {"placeholder":"Add evaluation here...","className":"text-gray-700"} --> <p class="text-gray-700">The offensive line for this South Carolina 7th Grade team put in a ton of work in the second practice today, going over a ton of combo blocks and other schemes. Peoples was a consistent standout on the line as the Right Tackle. Appeared to be the biggest O-Linemen on the roster, in terms of combined weight and height.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- /wp:acf/evaluation-block --> <!-- wp:acf/evaluation-block {"name":"acf/evaluation-block","data":{"player_evaluations_0_player":["1131146"],"_player_evaluations_0_player":"field_62ab9d62ecf2c","player_evaluations_0_override_profile_image":"","_player_evaluations_0_override_profile_image":"override-player-profile-image","player_evaluations_0_not_in_database":"","_player_evaluations_0_not_in_database":"field_62aba48cecf2d","player_evaluations":1,"_player_evaluations":"field_62aba7547dc44"},"mode":"preview","alignText":"left","anchor":"acf-block-666ad810f2793"} --> <!-- wp:paragraph {"placeholder":"Add evaluation here...","className":"text-gray-700"} --> <p class="text-gray-700">Started the second practice at Right Offensive Guard before making the move to Center because of his ability to snap the ball. Another player that is a plus when it comes to size, his versatility proved to be a big factor in practice today. With the unpredictability of an All-Star game, it could pay off big time later this week too.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- /wp:acf/evaluation-block --> <!-- wp:acf/evaluation-block {"name":"acf/evaluation-block","data":{"player_evaluations_0_player":["1301750"],"_player_evaluations_0_player":"field_62ab9d62ecf2c","player_evaluations_0_override_profile_image":"","_player_evaluations_0_override_profile_image":"override-player-profile-image","player_evaluations_0_not_in_database":"","_player_evaluations_0_not_in_database":"field_62aba48cecf2d","player_evaluations":1,"_player_evaluations":"field_62aba7547dc44"},"mode":"preview","alignText":"left","anchor":"acf-block-666ad810f27d2"} --> <!-- wp:paragraph {"placeholder":"Add evaluation here...","className":"text-gray-700"} --> <p class="text-gray-700">Made a number of nice plays in the defensive secondary as a Strong Safety in the second practice of the day. Played aggressively throughout the practice and possesses a muscular build that leads me to believe there's another level of physicality he turns it up to, when the pads are on.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- /wp:acf/evaluation-block --> <!-- wp:acf/evaluation-block {"name":"acf/evaluation-block","data":{"player_evaluations_0_player":["1301753"],"_player_evaluations_0_player":"field_62ab9d62ecf2c","player_evaluations_0_override_profile_image":"","_player_evaluations_0_override_profile_image":"override-player-profile-image","player_evaluations_0_not_in_database":"","_player_evaluations_0_not_in_database":"field_62aba48cecf2d","player_evaluations":1,"_player_evaluations":"field_62aba7547dc44"},"mode":"preview","alignText":"left","anchor":"acf-block-666ad810f280f"} --> <!-- wp:paragraph {"placeholder":"Add evaluation here...","className":"text-gray-700"} --> <p class="text-gray-700">One of the longest Cornerbacks on the team, Wiggins had a nice second practice. He was primarily lined up on the right side and has one of those now-coveted Free Safety bodies that play Corner. Was able to flip his hips and run up the field, but could also float out in the flat a bit to defend against the short-to-intermediate routes.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- /wp:acf/evaluation-block --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong><u>Additional South Carolina 7th Grade Future Stars That Stood Out</u></strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='1301758' first='Lataj' last='Stevens'] - Bumped inside to play Right Guard after swapping spots with [player_tooltip player_id='1131146' first='Malachi' last='Watson']. Looked at home there and made up one half of a powerful right side of the offensive line.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='1301760' first='Shamar' last='Sayles'] - Loved the way he moved as an Outside Linebacker, but loved his build and physical nature even more. He may get some touches as a Running Back too, but looks like he'll make a difference on the defensive side of the ball.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='865974' first='Jemo' last='Stinson'] - One of 10 returners from last year's 6th grade South Carolina Future Stars, Stenson looked fast and strong as an Outside Linebacker. He's another prospect that may get some touches as RB, but his defensive play is was caught my eye today.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='1301764' first='Tristan' last='Shell'] - A well-built CB that was running with the (presumed) first team defense during the second practice. Very muscular and not afraid to get physical on the outside, with or without Safety help over top.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='1301767' first='Nathyus' last='Fabor'] - He's an incredibly raw prospect who only made the change to DB/WR in recent years. You can tell he's raw, but there's a ton of upside in him. As long as [player_tooltip player_id='1301753' first='Tori' last='Wiggins'] (listed above) is, Fabor is even longer. Once he starts to put meat on his bones and gets more experience, he could be Richard Sherman-like as a CB or one heck of a Free Safety who covers ground.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph -->

Representing on their home turf on the campus of Clemson University, the South Carolina 7th Grade Future Stars had a pair of practices on the opening day of the Future Stars event week. I was able to catch the second of the two practices, which featured a lot of installation for the offensive line and a ton of 7v7 for the skill position guys vs. the South Carolina 8th Grade Future Stars. Here's a look at who caught my eye.
