RecruitNE_GA Combine: Evaluating the Strong Men

<p>Coach Daniels and crew put on a great event last week at Banks Co High School. The combine featured some of the best under the radar athletes in the NE Ga corridor. One of the unique events was the weight lifting competition. Each athlete attempted to get the maximum reps at 185 pounds. Below is a film review of the Top 5 finishers. </p>   <p><strong>Ashton Camp</strong> - 2025 FB/LB - Banks County</p>   <p>The 5'10 235 Camp knocked out 22 reps to tie for the lead. A raw recruit that has shown some agility for his size on the camp circuit this Spring. He had a good Game for the Leopards playing mostly from the DE position. Aggressive off the line of scrimmage and uses his upper body strength to move offensive lineman. Has the quickness to track down the RB and finish the tackle. Big Senior season coming up for Camp, one in which he should be a big contributor this Fall. </p>   <figure class="wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter"><div class="wp-block-embed__wrapper"> https://twitter.com/AshtonCamp19/status/1795480084192903424 </div></figure>   <p><strong>Asa Owen</strong> - 2026 DE/TE/LS - Whitewater</p>   <p>The 6'1 225 rising Junior is an impressive prospect from Whitewater in Fayetteville. He tied for the led in the bench press contest with 22 reps. Athletic with a solid build, a gym rat. He has already hit 300 on the power clean max as a sophomore. Agile with a quick 1st step and is a finisher. A workhorse off the field who is constantly working on his craft. A next level player that we will hear more about this Fall. </p>   <figure class="wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter"><div class="wp-block-embed__wrapper"> https://twitter.com/AsavOwen/status/1802019212359073966 </div></figure>   <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1091398' first='Bly' last='James']</strong> - 2028 DL - Cartersville</p>   <p>The 6'0 225 rising Freshman DL at Cartersville is a name we are very familiar with here at Prep Redzone. Very polished in his skills and strong beyond his age group. We saw him back in the Spring in the Freshman All Star Game hosted by NEGA Recruits. He took home OL MVP in the game in which he was a year younger than everyone else. He tested out with solid metrics earlier this Spring at our Camp. He is the total package at RB with speed and strength. The rising Junior took home the RB MVP at the Combine and finished tied for 2nd in the bench press competition with 19 reps. Burtch is waiting his turn at the varsity level behind one of the best '25 backs in the State, [player_tooltip player_id='1080831' first='Javin' last='Gordon']. He knocked out 17 reps at 185 at the combine to finish 3rd. He rushed for over 1400 yards last season for the Tigers while splitting carries in a talented backfield. Powerful upper and lower body with outstanding agility. One of the most overlooked RBs in the 2025 Class. </p>   <figure class="wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter"><div class="wp-block-embed__wrapper"> https://twitter.com/CoachDaniels06/status/1799880443896205663 </div></figure>   <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1251985' first='Danye' last='Garvin']</strong> - 2026 RB - Bulloch Academy</p>   <p>The 5'9 175 Garvin was an All Region RB last season as a Sophomore at Bulloch Academy. He has a good combination of speed and strength and has that "twitch" to avoid contact in traffic. Shows pull away speed once he gets to the 2nd level. He tied for 3rd in the bench press competition with 17 reps and was one of the RB MVPs selected by Coach Daniels.
