The 2024 season is rapidly approaching and as a way to start previewing it, I have decided to go district by district and chose a player from every team as a breakout candidate. The breakout candidates are players who are flying under the radar, young players biding their time, etc. These guys are set to make a big name for themselves in 2024, tap in NOW!!!

I don't have a ton of tape on incoming senior [player_tooltip player_id='1053984' first='Drew' last='Jarrett'], but with solid summer offers from Morningside and Midland, it's clear to see Drew is gearing up for a big year. Drew flashed a ton of potential as a junior where he finished with 27 tackles and 1.5 TFLs. I think we should also expect to see some bone jarring blocks from Drew at the tight end position, considering how much the Jr Jays love to run the ball. Excited to see more from Drew this summer.

Even with an offer from Nebraska-Kearney, I'm surprised that more teams haven't been hot on Jackson's heels. The Tiger's bookend tackle has the type of size coaches love to see at the next level with a strong 6'5” and 305-pound frame. What's extra impressive is that Jackson has the mobility, quickness, and technique to match his size. He's aggressive at the point of attack and has the power to take control at the line of scrimmage. Huge steal!

A transfer from Norfolk, junior [player_tooltip player_id='1309350' first='Taivien' last='Winsley'], is a very intriguing player who has the upside to be a high level prospect. Taivien looked destructive in the trenches for the Panthers last season playing with a violent, mean edge. He fires off the ball quickly and is effective with his hand usage. I'm interested to see how he fits in the Eagle's defensive line/EDGE rusher rotation alongside high profile players like Alijah and Ike. I was also impressed with what I saw from Taivien playing tight end at a 7v7 scrimmage a few weeks back. Versatile, high ceiling player who will be utilized well in Central's offensive and defensive schemes.

There will be several new faces starting at different positions for the Warriors this season, so this was a very tough choice. However, after seeing the types of plays that junior [player_tooltip player_id='357772' first='Eli' last='Johnson'] has been making at camps and summer passing league, I have no doubt he's in store for a monster season. The Warriors prospect is a Power 4-level player just waiting to take on a bigger role on the offense. Johnson excels at making the highlight reel plays where he is can go up and high-point the ball over defenders. Strong hands, great concentration, top-tier route running, and a solid frame. I wouldn't be surprised to see some offers on the table for Eli by season's end.

Assuming that junior QB [player_tooltip player_id='402142' first='Cameron' last='Leggett'] will be QB1, I really like the situation he will be stepping into. Cameron will have a great receiving core and one of the top offensive lines in Class A featuring one of the top OTs in the state. On top of having great help, Cameron is great on his own accord. In varsity time last season and 7v7s this offseason, Leggett has displayed a solid arm and mobility. He can fit the ball into tight windows and showed good accuracy when pushing the ball deep. The Monarch's offense could take off if Leggett and Co. get the ball rolling early.
