If you enjoy physical, downhill running, the running backs take center stage in region IV-2A as we continue our 2024 team MVP series. They have great speed to go along with their physicality that will make them tough for opposing defenses to bring down. There was one defensive back and receiver who will make a difference for their teams in 2024.

Let's jump into our MVP predictions for region IV-2A:

ANDREW JACKSON VOLUNTEERS

[player_tooltip player_id='1394996' first='Damias' last='Seegars'] RB/DB, 2026

Seegars returns for the Volunteers as a junior and will be looked at as a leader on both sides of the ball. He ran for 472 yards, averaging 9.1 yards per carry and running for 7 touchdowns in 2023. We expect his production and involvement in the offense to pick up. He had 36 total tackles on defense last year, which was fourth on the team.

No film available

BUFORD YELLOW JACKETS

Antonio Amos RB, 2025

The leading rusher for the Yellow Jackets returns after rushing for 351 yards, averaging 4.3 yards per carry while scoring one touchdown in 2023. He fits what the Yellow Jackets like to do offensively well in their option first offense. He is tough to bring down and is not afraid of contact and can get the tough yards you need. On defense, he can defeat blocks well and make tackles in space, from what we saw on film.

CENTRAL EAGLES

[player_tooltip player_id='1254093' first='Tray' last='Wilson'] RB, 2025

Wilson has a unique blend of speed and power that is fun to watch when he gets out into the open field. His jump cut and vision when he runs is impressive. He can run people over if you get in his way and catch the ball in space. He ran for 806 yards on 81 carries, averaging 10 yards per carry and 7 touchdowns in 2023. He also caught 24 balls for 383 yards and two touchdowns.

CHERAW BRAVES

Cam McClendon RB, 2025

The first thing that jumps out about McClendon on film is his quickness once he gets to the second level. He has a burst of speed that is tough for defenders to try and run him down. And on the chance that you do run him down, he showed the ability to run through arm tackles while maintaining ball security. He ran for 753 yards, averaging 7.3 yards a carry and 6 touchdowns in 2023.

CHESTERFIELD RAMS

[player_tooltip player_id='1254128' first='Jaquavis' last='Clark'] WR, 2025

Clark's size at the receiver position was the first thing that stood out to us when we turned on his film. That size enables him to go up and catch jump balls against defenders or he can catch the ball in the quick game and get up field quickly to get extra yardage. He can defeat arm tackles and should be a nice complement to [player_tooltip player_id='1639753' first='Aiden' last='Short'] at running back and defensive back in 2024. Clark finished with 692 yards receiving and 9 touchdowns.

NORTH CENTRAL KNIGHTS

[player_tooltip player_id='1249778' first='Jordan' last='Joe'] DB, 2025

Joe (pictured above) is a ballhawk at the defensive back position. He can read and react to plays quickly and go up and make plays on the ball, like we saw on his film against Chesterfield last year. He can also light up the defender and either jar the ball loose or make the tackle in space. He had seven interceptions in 2023.
