Custy is an electric dual-threat quarterback who could step into the spotlight as soon as this fall. His freshman tape shows a ton of ability and play-making instincts. He's got a good feel for pressure in the pocket and knows when to take off. He's got throwing mechanics and doesn't strain too much downfield. He's 5'11" right now, but he's got plenty of time to keep growing physically and mentally. I'd expect a breakout year for Custy if he puts it all together.

Few freshmen had the year that Barrett had throwing the rock. Not only did he start as a freshman, but he showed that he's going to be a good player for years to come. He makes good decisions, he's got a quick release, and he's accurate. Arguably most important, he doesn't turn the ball over. 12 passing TDs to 1 interception on 64% completion is about as efficient as you can get on year 1. I'm hopeful to see a big year 2 from Barrett.

Beste got his feet wet just a little as a freshman, but I imagine it was just about prepping him for year 2. He's got a solid arm and can put the ball over the shoulder downfield when he has time in the pocket. Working on squaring his shoulders and smoothing out some of his footwork will go a long way, but it's a process and he's well on his way. While he may be another small-school player, he's someone I think that can flourish down the road.
