A sleeper defensive lineman from North Fulton who is still flying under the radar, Johnson is a physically gifted defender who brings some versatility to the Cambridge defense. At 6-foot-3 250-pounds with long arms and a high motor, Johnson showed last year that he’s absolutely capable and talented enough to play at the next level. He’s someone who can play all over the defensive line and has the ability to hold his own in the run game while being a disruptive pass-rusher as well. He’s had a strong spring and is coming off an impressive camp performance at the University of Georgia this week. Now, he’s earned a new offer from the in-state Georgia Southern Eagles with more offers possibly coming his way as the summer rolls along. He’s a prospect to know who has a chance to have a dominant senior season for the Bears this fall.
Another Atlanta-area defender on the rise who still deserves more recognition, Johnson is a long, athletic linebacker with a muscular build at 6-foot-3 210-pounds out of Decatur. His stock is on the rise and has already picked up offers this month from Furman and Temple with more likely heading his way. A versatile defender who can play both middle and outside linebacker due to his strength, quickness, and natural instincts, Johnson sheds blocks consistently and has a true nose for the football. He brings great effort on every play, making him tough to handle on a consistent basis. He was a tackling machine last fall, making 86 total stops with 15 TFLs, four sacks, and three fumble recoveries. He’s a true playmaker on defense who brings Power Four potential. His junior film was impressive, and he should be even better in his final 2024 season. Look for him to make a big move in the next 2025 Prep Redzone rankings.
A rangy defensive back who covers a lot of ground down the field, Tyler Jr. is an under the radar safety who reads the quarterback well and knows how to make a play on the ball. He brings good size at 6-foot-0 170-pounds and plays the ball like a receiver. He can run, jump, tackle, and still has his best football way ahead of him. His recruitment is starting to pick up some, and he recently picked up his first D1 offer from Western Kentucky. As good as he is in coverage, Tyler does a good job of reacting to the run, flying down-hill, and making a sure tackle on the ball-carrier. He’s a fluid athlete who is only getting better, and more offers could come his way this summer. He’s one of the more underrated safety prospects in the area for the 2025 class, but it’s clear more offers could come his way this summer.
