In this iteration of Hudl Discoveries, I'll be checking out six more players from the OAA White. All six of these players could very well end up on the rankings next month!

Mario is another great running back from Groves. Better yet, Mario holds five Division 1 offers, and he's aiming for more. His film showcases good, hard-nosed North-South running alongside promising athleticism. It's difficult to guess testing times from a highlight tape, but I am very optimistic by Mario's explosiveness and top speed. In addition, his contact balance and vision look generally above average. I generally like his film, and I'd imagine his lifting/testing numbers are quite good, considering his offers. I hope to see Mario at a camp sometime this summer!

Groves has quickly gained a reputation of being one of the best DB schools in Michigan. In 2023, Jalen racked up 10PBUs and only gave up 15 yards through 9 games (self-reported). Most of those pass breakups seem to come from man-to-man coverage against an outside receiver running a "go" or something similar. I like that Jalen can hold with outside receivers deep downfield, but in a perfect world, I'd like to see better variety. Still, he has a few good pass breakups, and his fundamentals seem solid. While defending the run, Jalen is a mixed bag. He has a few great run stops, like the highlight at 1:24 against Seaholm. However, there are other instances where Jalen looks timid and waits for the ball carrier to come to him. I hope to see Jalen sometime this offseason to get a better idea of his abilities.

'26 QB | [player_tooltip player_id='1298803' first='LeVelle' last='Shannon'] | Groves | @LeVelleShannon1

Geesh! LeVelle has some solid highlights, and I'm looking forward to seeing what he's able to do during his Junior season. This is a true dual-threat QB who does his best work outside the pocket while improvising. The highlight at 0:52 shows incredible focus as he evades the rush, keeps his eyes downfield, and delivers a strike to the middle of the field. The very next play further shows off his pocket presense as he's able to step up in the pocket, scramble, and gain a good 8-9 yards. Several other plays showcase his quick throwing motion, play action, and throw on the run. I need to watch a few full games of his or watch him in person at a camp to get a better idea of his abilities, but I genuinely love his tape, and I think LeVelle has an extremely high ceiling.

'25 DT | [player_tooltip player_id='603738' first='Jevon' last='Jones Jr'] | Harper Woods | @JevonJonesJr1

Jevon is currently on the 2025 Watch List, so I think it's a perfect time to revisit his film, especially after the recent recruiting attention. After watching the film, I understand why he's an elite GLIAC prospect. If I could sum up his film in just a few words, it would be "explosivity and hands." Right as the ball is snapped, Jevon explodes off the ball and he has the rare ability to use his hands as he's exploding forward. Countless plays in his film show effortless-looking and fluid hands which get him into the backfield for a pressure, TFL, or sack. It also helps to be 6'4" 275. Combining his size and fundamental prowess, Jevon has one of the highest ceilings out there and if he ends up in the GLAIC, I could see him earning playing time early on in his college career.

This is a more of an "I see you" type of eval. Henry has a big leg and is able to boot longer field goals with relative ease. I like the arc he gets on his FGs. Other than that, I'm just excited to see him at a few upcoming camps.

'26 DT | [player_tooltip player_id='1298808' first='Marcus' last='Boler'] | Southfield A&T | No Twitter

I am very optimistic about Marcus, as it's extremely difficult to start as a Sophomore on a big-school state championship team. Starting off, I like his size at 5'11" 260. His counterpart, Reggie Gardner, earned several GLIAC offers and eventually committed to Eastern Michigan with very similar size. More on Marcus's film, he's a powerful defensive tackle who sports an explosive getoff, good anchor, and good tackling. Moving forward, I'd love to see him develop his hands a bit more while keeping consistent play speed. I'll consider ranking Marcus during the next rankings update.
