Standout Prospects - QB Factory DMV Spring Spotlight Showcase

<p>I was recently at the DMV Spring Spotlight showcase at Oakdale High School and put on by QBFactory. The camp has a lot of strong local area talent and allowed me to get eyes back on prospects I hadn't seen since the fall. It may have been a rainy evening but all the players pushed through and put in some great work. Below are few players that stood out during the camp, caught the eyes of myself as well as the college coaches there. </p>    <p class="text-gray-700">Blake may have been the player I was most excited to see at this event as it was my first time getting eyes on him and seeing him live. He stood out right away, looking the part on the hoof. Good size, big chest, and wide frame filled out with nice bulk. He displayed nice bend and explosiveness in his get off. Blake flashed nice strength and power in his 1v1s, winning multiple reps. He also showed good agility, moving well laterally and playing on his toes. He still needs to be developed in his hand technique but there is a lot of talented clay to mold with Blake. After having 7 sacks and 14 tfl's as a Junior, I expect Blake to only improve on that come this fall. He will be an early senior tape kid for colleges to look at for sure.</p>     <p class="text-gray-700">Brayden is a player I have seen a few times this spring, and he continues to improve every time he comes across my radar. He had a great junior season racking up 60+ tackles, 4 Ints and 2 defensive TDs. A physical ball hawk Safety, Brayden has an ideal body type for the position with great length and a frame that will continue to fill out real well. He is 175lbs now and I can see him being a yoked up ~190lbs by the time he graduates. He showed fluid hips and clean footwork during 1v1s. Consistently Brayden would out physical receivers at the LOS and fight to win the ball. A playmaker all over the field with good instincts, ball skills, and hit power-he checks a lot of boxes. I really like Brayden as an in the box SS at the next level and with a 3.5 GPA, I don't how he doesn't have any offers yet. </p>    <figure class="wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter"><div class="wp-block-embed__wrapper"> https://twitter.com/braydendewaal33/status/1733185758360387890 </div></figure>    <p class="text-gray-700">Getting my first looks at Kaedyn, I can say I am excited to see more of him this fall. He didn't play a ton as a junior, but talking with Coach Abel he should be solid contributor for a loaded Dundalk team this fall. First thing you notice about Kaedyn is that he passes the eye ball test. Standing 6'2+" 195lbs and 36" arms, while he is still raw as a prospect he has size you like for an OLB. Kaedyn showed the ability to play in space during 1v1s / 7v7. He has loose hips, can turn and run, and uses his length and athleticism to his advantage. He has a long lean frame and a big wingspan. Karmelo showed real nice feet and twitchy hips during the showcase. Was smooth in his backpedal and able to break down and explode out of breaks. Smallwood displays great range and ball skills as a S. Can cover ground, tracks the ball well and will go up and get it. Showcases this during 1v1s in the camp as he turn & ran with the WR, got his head turned around quickly to eye the ball and then went up to get it for an INT. Karmelo has a ton of potential and can see him coming in high on our 2026 MD player rankings. </p>    <figure class="wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter"><div class="wp-block-embed__wrapper"> https://twitter.com/Karmel016 </div></figure>    <p class="text-gray-700">Eubank is a versatile athlete making impact plays on both sides of the ball. He worked out as a DB during the showcase and he shined. Darius has real good length and big wingspan for his height, which allows him to get his hands to the ball repeatedly. Darius has twitchy hips and good burst. He showed this during 1v1s as he has the ability to stay in phase with the WR, stick to his hip and run the route. A good leaper as well, he can play bigger than his size going up and attacking the ball. This checks out as Darius is a 3 sport athlete, playing PG on the basketball team and being a state finalist in the long jump. I have noticed a big advancement in his velocity and zip on his passes. We were in the rain during this camp and he was still firing darts and spinning it. He caught the attention of college coaches there as I had few talk with me about him during the event. Ahmir has really nice footwork and overall mechanics as a thrower. Gets the ball out quick and on target. A playmaker running the ball as well, Ahmir can do it all. His skill set will only improve as he continues to develop a stronger arm and frame as a whole.
