With just a couple of work days left in the month of May I decided to shine some light on the wide receiver position.

Here is a look at five Prep Redzone ranked wideouts from three different classes and who have not been featured individually much over the past six months. Each one has the speed and catching ability to impress college scouts and to move up the rankings when next updated.

[player_tooltip player_id='352452' first='Teryn' last='Jackson'], WR, 5'9”, 150, Bishop Miege, ‘25

Jackson's speed is what earned him a spot in the rankings. He is currently ranked No. 59 overall in the Class of 2025. While I have been unable to locate his stats online from last season, there is plenty of film available. That film shows that he can run past defenders and that he has solid hands. He has been honing his skills this offseason both during the 7v7 club season and in the weightroom.

[player_tooltip player_id='716116' first='Jensen' last='Schrickel'], WR, 5'10”, 150, Hayden, ‘25

While watching film on Schrickel, the first thing that stands out is his toughness and willingness to compete. He is a tough guy to tackle and fights hard to get 50/50 balls. The Hayden wideout is currently ranked No. 115 overall by Prep Redzone Kansas. He runs solid routes and has plus speed. He can be a factor as return man on special teams. His love for the game and willingness to extend plays is what sets him apart from more naturally gifted athletes.

[player_tooltip player_id='1115792' first='James' last='Fieser'], WR, 6'2”, 185, Liberal, ‘26

A wideout to keep and eye on from the class of 2026 is Liberal's Fieser. As a sophomore he snatched 39 balls out of the air and gained 561 yards in 10 games. He took five receptions to the house. He has s nice first step and gains traction quickly. His height allows him to high-point balls and create mismatches against shorter corners. The Liberal prospect is currently ranked No. 79 overall by Prep Redzone.

[player_tooltip player_id='1114730' first='Nash' last='Morrison'], WR, 6'3”, 145, Basehor-Linwood, ‘26

Basehor-Linwood's wide receiver corps was decimated by injuries last season and Morrison was one of those casualties. He did suit for seven games and made nine receptions of the Bobcats. He gained 112 yards and caught one touchdown. Morrison is quick and agile. He showed off his athleticism on the basketball court as well. He can make it rain from deep and hopes he hope to take corners deep during a renewed and healthy junior season.

[player_tooltip player_id='1044864' first='Cory' last='Kirchner'], WR, 6'3”, 170, Spring Hill, ‘27

Spring Hill's Kirchner is the top-ranked wide receiver in Prep Redzone Kansas' Class of 2027 rankings. He earned that spot primarily based on his freshman season production for the Broncos. In six games played at the varsity level he recorded 16 receptions for 228 yards and two touchdowns. He is a young man who should be fun to watch evolve as he gains more playing time and overall experience.

With just a couple of work days left in the month of May I decided to shine some light on the wide receiver position.
