SLMFCA Showcase Top Defensive Performers

Here are the top defensive performers at the recent St. Louis Metro Football Coaches Association showcase.   [player_tooltip player_id='1284528' first='Easton' last='Smith'] 2026 DE Rolla (6'3" 215) 4.9 40 - 4.45 shuttle - 9'1" broad jump - The most intriguing defensive prospect at the showcase was the starting QB for the Rolla Bulldogs. Smith said he saw a lot of quarterbacks at the showcase and decided to line up with the defensive linemen, which was a great decision. He showed impressive athleticism during testing, which carried over to drills and 1v1s, as he displayed a quick first step and explosiveness of the ball and great motor that was tough against some quality D1 offensive line prospects. While still raw, Easton looks like he has a future at D-end if he continues with it.   [player_tooltip player_id='1284531' first='Noah' last='Delgado'] 2025 LB Francis Howell (6'0" 187) 4.8 40 - 4.16 shuttle - 8'10" broad jump - An athletic linebacker who looks poised for a big season with his Vikings. Delgado has good speed, is very quick and agile, and showed good pass coverage ability against backs in one on ones at the showcase. He's a player to watch for during the summer and pre-season to see where he fits in the Howell rotation at linebacker.   [player_tooltip player_id='1284533' first='Sean' last='Keegan'] 2025 LB Webster Groves (6'3" 193) 5.0 40 - 4.7 shuttle - 9'4" broad jump - Another QB convert who surprised me was the talented Keegan, who ran a good laser forty time and showed good power in the broad jump. Sean was the starting quarterback for the Statesmen his freshman and sophomore seasons. He has the tools and athleticism that translates to linebacker. He is another prospect to keep an eye on how the position switch pans out.
