Continuing our coverage of the 2025 rankings update we are going to provide in-depth scouting reports on the top six players in British Columbia starting with our fourth ranked player in Canada Breylon Mcculler Breylon Mcculler 6'5" | 240 lbs | ATH Carson Graham | 2025 State CAD .
Breylon Mcculler Breylon Mcculler 6’5″ | 240 lbs | ATH Carson Graham | 2025 State CAD , ranked fourth in Canada and first in British Columbia, has justifiably earned his position. As a junior, he was recognized as a provincial all-star playing as an outside linebacker, a testament to his remarkable abilities. At 6’5″ and 225 pounds, Mcculler possesses the ideal physical traits for an outstanding outside linebacker prospect, including the ability to run the forty-yard dash in 4.81 seconds and achieve a 32-inch vertical leap. His pass-rushing skills are exceptional, utilizing his significant strength and ability to lower his pad level to navigate past offensive linemen. He is equally adept in run defense, displaying a powerful motor and a swift first step off of the snap that enable him to disrupt the backfield and secure tackles for loss. Breylon has primarily operated in a 3-4 defense, taking up the 5-technique on the defensive line in a 2 or 3-point stance, while also showing the agility required to transition into coverage as an outside linebacker. His physical attributes make him a versatile fit for either a 4-3 or 3-4 defense at a higher level, in a linebacker or defensive line position. Last week, Mcculler received his inaugural NCAA offer from Portland State, likely the precursor to multiple offers, given his potential to attract attention from NCAA Power Four programs.

Daniel Dykema Daniel Dykema 6’6″ | 185 lbs | QB Argyle | 2025 State CAD , the top-ranked quarterback outside Québec and the second-ranked player in British Columbia, has the potential to be among the top thirty players in Canada. Standing at 6’6″ and weighing 185 pounds, Dykema has a powerful arm and an ideal quarterback build. His smooth throwing motion enables him to deliver the ball with velocity to all areas of the field. As an anticipatory thrower—a rarity among Canadian prospects—Dykema excels. He adeptly navigates muddy pockets, accurately delivering downfield passes even with defenders in his lap. Although primarily a pocket passer, Dykema can also effectively scramble and throw on the run. His gunslinger mentality allows him to propel the ball downfield effortlessly, yet his anticipatory skills keep interceptions to a minimum. Dykema’s physical attributes and potential make him a strong candidate for an NCAA Division One starting position.

Wyatt Poitras Wyatt Poitras 6’2″ | 215 lbs | ATH Okanagan Mission | 2025 State CAD , the third-ranked player from British Columbia, is a standout athlete prospect in Canada. He exhibits remarkable versatility, akin to a Swiss Army knife, in his gameplay on both offense and defense. Defensively, his vision is impressive, demonstrated by his quickness in moving downhill towards the ball carrier and his consistent motor, characterized by long strides and proper positioning when approaching the ball carrier to make a tackle. On offense, while his designated position is tight end, Poitras transcends traditional roles with his dynamic presence in the Okanagan Mission’s scheme, often operating as a slot-back who is notoriously difficult to tackle due to his movement ability within his 6’2″, 215-pound frame. Poitras possesses the physical attributes and football intelligence to be a multifaceted asset for any coach and has the potential to attract Division One offers.

Highlights
Anderson Bicknell Anderson Bicknell 6’1″ | 170 lbs | ATH Vernon | 2025 State CAD , the fourth-ranked B.C. player in the class of 2025, stands out as the top wide receiver prospect in the province. With an impressive 6’1″, 175-pound frame and remarkable speed—evidenced by a 4.57s forty-yard dash and an 11.87s hundred-meter dash—Bicknell’s physical attributes are elite. Capable of playing all three receiver positions, his size and speed make him a potential X receiver at the collegiate level. His comfort with crossing the middle of the field, coupled with the ability to turn modest gains into significant plays, stems from his agility and speed. After the catch, he’s notably elusive and intuitively finds gaps in zone coverage. Bicknell excels at running the full route tree and effectively can beat both man and zone defenses consistently. As more people discover his talent through his game footage, Bicknell is expected to rapidly ascend our rankings, showcasing the potential to be someone who can be a NCAA Power Four starting wide receiver.

Nathan Lowden Nathan Lowden 5’11” | 180 lbs | DB Vancouver College | 2025 State CAD , currently the fifth-ranked player in British Columbia, has the potential to ascend to the second ranked player in the province as little separates him from the players above. Lowden stands out as the top defensive back prospect for the class of 2025 in the province and is a strong contender to become the best overall defensive prospect. With an impressive build at 5’11” and 180lb, complemented by long arms and exceptional speed, Nathan is a formidable presence. He is versatile, capable of playing both safety and corner, and possesses the rare ability to close in on receivers from deep in zone coverage while keeping eyes on the quarterback. His elite closing skills are evident whether he’s supporting the run downhill or breaking downhill on shallow routes in off or zone coverage. Nathan’s keen sense of timing allows him to leap and intercept the ball by reading the quarterback’s throwing motion. He is an outstanding prospect with all the qualities sought after by NCAA Division One programs in a defensive back.

Emmet Ward Emmet Ward 6’5″ | 205 lbs | QB Windsor | 2025 State CAD ranked sixth in the province and fifth among Canadian quarterbacks, is one of my top prospects in Western Canada for the 2025 class. With the potential to climb into the top fifteen in the national rankings, Ward stands at 6’5″ and weighs 205 pounds. He completed 59% of his passes in his junior year, amassing 1818 yards and 16 touchdowns. Ward’s arm strength is suited for the diverse throws required of a collegiate quarterback. He adeptly layers passes across all three levels with velocity and adjusts his arm angle to bypass defenders, ensuring that the throws are delivered on time. His ability to push the ball downfield is notable, and his precision and touch on deep passes set him apart from his peers. Ward’s pocket footwork and drop-backs are notably advanced for a player in Canada. He can scramble for yardage when necessary but prefers to keep his eyes downfield, showing skill in throwing on the run and on off-platform throws. Although his throwing motion could be refined for a faster release, it doesn’t detract from his prospects as an exceptional quarterback, deserving of NCAA Power Four consideration.
