Courtney Thompson
Thompson picked up his first pair of offers from Arizona and UNLV this month before playing his first varsity snaps. The younger brother of Lincoln 2023 standout, Corey Thompson Jr. (UNLV), Courtney is an athletic two-way player that’s shown an impressive combination of speed, twitch, and fluidity as a WR on the offseason circuit. He’s quick and sudden with his releases and finishes with fast, aggressive hands through the catch. Thompson seems poised to produce a breakout sophomore season in the fall.
Fa’alave’s continued to collect D-I offers with his tenth coming from Utah this month. He showed his natural talent and versatility as a freshman for St. Augustine last season, leading all San Diego freshman with 700 rushing yards and 11 TDs out of the backfield and totaled 62 tackles in the defensive secondary. He’s a fast, explosive athlete that can outpace defenders once he hits the second level and takes on contact with balance and persistent leg drive. Fa’alave, a PRZ top-10 prospect in the state, offers some of the highest upside of any prospect in San Diego.
Mageo’s continued to put his name on the 2027 radar after putting together a solid freshman season at OG for Oceanside. He’s impressed with his athleticism and physical skillset on the offseason circuit picking up four D-I offers since January (Arizona St., Cal, Washington St., and UNLV). He’s quick and coordinated in his movement/footwork, excels at picking up blocks in space, and should continue to add strength and mass to his 6’3”/240 frame. Mageo’s quickly establishing himself as one of the early top OL prospects in San Diego’s 2027 class.
Highlights
Allen’s an up-and-coming prospect that landed on our most recent PRZ CA 2027 WatchList and just picked up his first offer from Arizona this month. The 6’/160 freshman showed his athleticism and playmaking ability on both sides of the ball (WR/DB) for Lincoln’s JV squad last season and should be a player to watch on the varsity level in the fall. Look for Allen to keep generating D-I interest as this talented young athlete continues to grow and develop.
Tavizon’s picked up five D-I offers since the start of the year after a strong showing at DE as a freshman for Lincoln last season. He’s a strong, athletic player with a college-ready build at 6’3”/240. He moves around the edge with great lateral burst, uses his hands effectively to shed, and packs a powerful punch at the POA. Tavizon- whose offer list includes San Diego St., Washington St., Oregon St., Arizona St., and Colorado St.- should develop into a national recruit in the coming years.
Benitez picked up his first D-I offer from hometown San Diego St. after the San Diego Showcase on May 8th. The 6’2”/205 freshman earned QB MVP honors at the Prep Redzone Combine Series event last month and continues to impress at camps with his physical ability along with the poise and maturity he’s shown in the early stages of his development. California’s freshman POY from last season should continue to rack up D-I offers as one of the best signal-callers in the state’s 2027 class.
