Millville might just be leading South Jersey in terms of player movement and recruitment lately. Jayden Jones Jayden Jones 6’3″ | 210 lbs | DL Millville | 2026 State NJ , the Thunderbolt’s outstanding defensive lineman, recently announced that he picked up two big offers over the last week. First, The U – the University of Miami – made an offer. Following that up, Jones also picked up an offer from Kent State. The two schools also join the likes of Maryland, Syracuse, Rutgers, West Virginia, UConn, Penn State, Pitt, Temple, and Michigan, amongst others.
Watch out now, but there might be a Hurricane passing through South Jersey. The ‘Canes made their trip to Jersey worth the while, also offering Glassboro’s Amari Sabb Amari Sabb 5’10” | 165 lbs | ATH Glassboro | 2026 State NJ a scholarship this week. Additionally, Sabb picked up offers from Boston College and Temple. These three universities join at least a dozen other schools in pursuit of the talented athlete.
Through this South Jersey hurricane, a flock of Owls seem to have infested Glassboro. Akin to Miami, Temple University double-dipped to Coach Breaker’s player pool, with both institutions offering Brandon Simmons Jr. Brandon Simmons Jr. 6’2″ | 260 lbs | DL Glassboro | 2026 State NJ scholarships. The two schools join Akron, West Virginia, and Pitt as potential future suitors for the outstanding defensive lineman.
I am not sure which direction Cedar Creek is from Glassboro, but the Owls are traveling that way for the summer. Temple’s canvas of South Jersey continued as Mandel Pettiford Mandel Pettiford 6’1″ | 265 lbs | DL Cedar Creek | 2025 State NJ was extended an offer this week. A prospect I had the opportunity to watch live recently, it comes as no surprise. As far as I can tell this is a big offer for Pettiford, as getting the first one is often typically the most difficult.
Highlights
One of the last really good prospects from the class of 2024 who, much to my surprise, had not yet committed where he will be playing ball in the fall of 2025 just did. Point Boro’s Matt Oliphant Matt Oliphant 6’2″ | 185 lbs | ATH Point Pleasant | 2024 State NJ , a Mister Do-It-All of sorts, will be staying Shore-bound as he will be playing for the Monmouth Hawks.
