This class was last updated in January and over the course of the past three months 75 athletes have been added to the rankings. The Kansas Class of 2026 now has 200 athletes ranked.
Athletes, coaches, and parents can click on the “How We Rank” story under the “Rankings” menu to learn more about the process of ranking players.
I encourage athletes to go to Prep Redzone and claim your profile if you are a newly added athlete or if you are unranked create a profile for “FREE” and you will be added to the “The Watch List.”
While I steive for perfection, I also understand that mistakes and typos happen. If you have questions about the rankings or see a mistake please feel free to DM me on social media @KSScoutDeck or email me at deckscoutks@gmail.com. Also I would like to give scout Wade Cargile his flowers for assisting with this rankings update.
Remember you attract more bees with honey than you do vinegar. If you send me a negative or rude email do not expect a reply. Also please realize that when it comes to sophomore and freshmen athletes it is difficult to project the future, injuries, priority changes for multiple sport athletes, coaching and system changes, transferring to another school district, all of these factors can impact a prep athlete and their recruitment status over the rest of their high school careers.
Here is a look at the new Top Ten ranked players in the Kansas Class of 2026, which also includes a new name ranked at the very top.
Ian Premer Ian Premer 6'6" | 205 lbs | TE Great Bend | 2026 State KS , TE, 6’6”, 205, Great Bend
Premer vaulted into the No. 1 position. He has collected Division I offers the past couple of months like the IRS collected taxes in April. A few of the schools he has offers from include Wisconsin, Iowa State, Penn State, Indiana, Missouri, Auburn, and Texas A&M. He made 32 receptions last season for the Panthers. Gaining 538 yards and catching nine touchdowns. Premer is also the No. 2 ranked basketball player in the Class of 2026 by Prep Hoops Kansas.
Maxwell Robinson Maxwell Robinson 6'4" | 270 lbs | OL Derby | 2026 State KS , OL, 6’4”, 270, Derby
Another Panther is debuting in the top ten, but this one is a lineman who plays for the Derby Panthers. Robinson is ranked No. 2 overall and is now the top-ranked offensive linemen. He has Division I offers from Oklahoma, Utah, Kansas, and Minnesota to name a few. He is a super strong and should get bigger, faster, and stronger.
Johnmichael Fountain Jr. Johnmichael Fountain Jr. 6'1" | 205 lbs | LB Wichita NW | 2026 State KS , LB, 6’1”, 205, Wichita Northwest
Fountain is now ranked. No. 3 overall and is the top-ranked linebacker. The Wichita Northwest prospect finished with 45 total tackles during his sophomore season. He is a fast and physical linebacker who can shoot the gap on a blitz, or step up and stop the run. Fountain has at least four Division I offers to this point. Iowa State, Kansas, Kansas State and Nebraska have reportedly made offers to Grizzly defensive standout.
Pharrell Adams Pharrell Adams 6'0" | 210 lbs | LB Wichita East | 2026 State KS , LB, 5’10”, 190, Wichita East
Adams is an explosive game-changing linebacker for the Aces. He continues to climb up the rankings ladder and is now ranked No. 4 overall and is the second-ranked linebacker. He has scheduled visits and camp invitations from a litany of Division I programs including Kansas State, Kansas, Baylor, Georgia, Oklahoma and Arkansas to name a few.
Aaron Bohannon Jr. Aaron Bohannon Jr. 5'5" | 160 lbs | RB Wichita East | 2026 State KS , RB, 5’5”, 160, Wichita Northwest
Bohannon is now ranked No. 5 overall after being ranked in the top spot during the last round of updates. He has one of the most impressive offensive seasons by a sophomore in Kansas. He rushed for 1,129 yards in nine games and scored 12 touchdowns. The Grizzly prospect can also be used as a weapon in the pass game as he caught 14 balls for 241 yards and two scores. As of now I have not seen any notice of offers for Bohannon, but he as been invited to multiple camps this summer including events at Kansas, Kansas State, and Kent State.
Braden Wilmes Braden Wilmes 6'8" | 275 lbs | OL Lawrence Free State | 2026 State KS , OL, 6’8”, 275, Free State
This mountain of a young man remains ranked at No. 6 overall and has the top-ranked offensive lineman. Watching the tackle’s HUDL package one can help but immediately be enamored with his size. At 6-foot-8 and 275 lbs. he creates obvious mismatches at the high school level. The Free State prospect as Division I offers from the likes of Kansas, Kansas State, Minnesota, and Arkansas.
Jaylen Mason Jaylen Mason 6'3" | 195 lbs | QB Wichita NW | 2026 State KS , QB, 6’1”, 180, Wichita Northwest
Mason is ranked No. 7 overall and is the top-ranked quarterback. During his sophomore season, he threw for 1,185 yards and 16 touchdowns. Northwest is becoming a football factory producing multiple college football players. Mason could follow in that line as the school as had visits from multiple college coaches this spring including Vanderbilt and Oklahoma.
Kelvin Parker III Kelvin Parker III 6'0" | 160 lbs | DB Olathe North | 2026 State KS , DB, 6’0”, 160, Olathe North
Olathe North’s Parker is the top-ranked defensive back in the Class of 2026 and is ranked. No. 8 overall. Parker has a nice combination of size and speed. He also returned kicks for the Eagles in 2023. During his sophomore season, he recorded 45 total tackles and one interception. He had a solid 7v7 season and has received camp invites from multiple schools including Iowa, UCONN, and Kent State.
Christopher Wash Christopher Wash 6'2" | 215 lbs | DL Mill Valley | 2026 State KS , DL, 6’2”, 215, Mill Valley
Wash is ranked No. 9 overall and is currently the top-ranked defensive lineman. He is a guy who don’t want to mess with. He wrestles, plays defensive line, and competes in track and field. He was the Class 6A State Champion in the 215 lb. Division. He should get a ton of recruiting attention, but the big question is will it be wrestling or football that dictates his collegiate path.
Carter Hajek Carter Hajek 6'0" | 210 lbs | ATH Nemaha Central | 2026 State KS , ATH, 5’11”, 200, Nemaha Central
In the No. 10 slot is Hajek, the highest-ranked small school athlete in Prep Redzone rankings. During his sophomore season, he rushed 2,431 yards for the Class 2A State Champion Thunder. He scored 43 touchdowns on the ground in 13 games. He threw for 962 yards and 10 touchdowns. Defensively he finished with 41 total tackles and one quarterback sack. Hajek has an offer from Benedictine in hand, but will have coaches from multiple levels watching him this springs as he had camp invites from Butler Community College, Pittsburg State University, Cornell, and the Kansas Jayhawks just to name a few.
