The PRZNE crew has been hard at work behind the scenes as we gear up for our upcoming 2025 rankings update. In the lead-up to it, we'll highlight some players who have been on the rise this spring and should be prospects to watch this summer.

For our next '25 rankings preview, we have a triplet of Small School standouts with some big time game! I picked out three prospects from small schools who could be considered hidden gems on the recruiting trail.

Hi-Line's [player_tooltip player_id='733918' first='Asher' last='Hecox'] is a very interesting prospect with loads of upside. Asher was one of the Bull's most menacing presences on defense last season and he backed it up with 92 tackles, 5 TFLs, 4 sacks, and two interceptions. What makes Asher such a unique player is his versatility on the field. He played defensive end for Hi-Line but possesses the athleticism (4.54 40-yard dash & 33" vert) and football IQ to play any number of positions, including linebacker and edge rusher. [player_tooltip player_id='733918' first='Asher' last='Hecox']'s quick first step allows him to explode through his hips before extending his long arms to create separation from blockers. Asher does a great job utilizing his hands to disengage from blocks at the line of scrimmage, using a barrage of violent swipes and counter-moves. Excellent pursuit— Asher's motor is non-stop when it comes to attacking the ball and plays with a mean edge from snap to whistle. You could also expect to see Asher being a bigger part of the offense after rushing for 332 yards and two touchdowns on 64 carries. Early candidate for 8-man defensive player of the year!

The Wildcats are probably happy to return their team's leading rusher from 2023. Incoming senior Cody Kuszack is back to continue building on the momentum from last season, in which he rushed for 569 yards on 129 carries and scored three rushing touchdowns. Cody is a rough-and-tumble type of back who is at his best when he can run the ball up the gut and drop his pads to bounce defenders off of him. Kuszack has a strong base and non-stop leg drive that allows him to keep pumping through tackle attempts. I didn't see many tackles in his tape that involved only one defender bringing down. Cody follows his blocks very well and has a solid vision to guide him toward opening running lanes. Cody is not a back who is going to torch you with his speed, but he does accelerate well into the second level and flashes a nice burst when he hits his lane. Solid back who can also be used as a receiving back on occasion (four receptions, 101 yards, and a receiving touchdown). Check him out!

Jaxen Jorgenson | RB | Oakland-Craig | 5'11" 200 lbs

Oakland-Craig's Jaxen Jorgenson is a player ready to return to action this fall after being sidelined with an early season-ending injury. It's no doubt that having Jaxen in the backfield would have give an already tough O-C rushing attack some extra juice. Javen came out the gates firing with 157 rushing yards and three touchdowns before going down in week 2. In those two games, Jaxen showed that he is a tough, physical runner who has the burst to break off long runs. He is explosive when firing through his gaps and does a great job following his blocks to open lanes. Jorgenson plays with a low center of gravity, which, when combined with his powerful 5'11" 200-pound frame, allows him to absorb contact while still staying upright. Jaxen is a great overall athlete who boasts some solid testing numbers with a 4.83 40-yard dash, 9'1" broad jump, and a 32" vertical jump. Class C2 will have to watch out once Jaxen gets back to 100% strength!
