Last year Alpha Football blew up ranking among the top teams nationally on the 7v7 circuit. Give coaches Dylan Young and Ifo Ekpre-Olomu a lot of credit for getting the program to where it is in such a short amount of time.

West Linn QB [player_tooltip player_id='406774' first='Baird' last='Gilroy'] passed for 3000+ yards and 34 total TDs last season for the Lions after helping Alpha Elite to a top 10 finish nationally. He was one of the only returners this year, from last season's squad that featured Washington commit [player_tooltip player_id='520433' first='Elias' last='Johnson'], Idaho commits Wiley & [player_tooltip player_id='152336' first='Gus' last='Donnerberg'], and [player_tooltip player_id='383829' first='Pierce' last='Walker'] who committed to Portland St.

This year's team was much younger and inexperienced but still competed and did relatively well. 2026 athlete [player_tooltip player_id='770006' first='Joe' last='Stimpson'] of Jesuit is one of the state's fastest rising prospects, excelling on both sides of the football. Speaking on him Young says, "He's a game changer. Great kid off the field also. Loves the process and the work. He'll be an elite level guy for sure." Look for Stimpson to potentially make a big jump up the rankings board when updated.

[player_tooltip player_id='770007' first='Logan' last='Uitto'] is another 26' athlete who you can expect to see ranked among the top 5A players in Oregon this coming season. He has been a standout for Alpha and a big reason Silverton could win the state title. 6-6 TE [player_tooltip player_id='1200829' first='Peyton' last='Read'] of Westview is underrated and rising quickly, along with LB [player_tooltip player_id='1322045' first='Aedan' last='Saele'] of Sprague who should have a monster senior campaign.

Much of the excitement comes with the 15U Alpha Elite group who finished 5th in the nation, after placing in the top four of every event, and winning the Pylon tourney in Los Angeles. It's rare, if not unheard of, for any Oregon team to end up winning the title at a major tournament.

Individuals featured with the young group include one of the state's top ranked 27's in [player_tooltip player_id='791149' first='Kawai' last='Chamberlin'], [player_tooltip player_id='845242' first='Sean' last='Bour-Nelson'] of Mountainside, [player_tooltip player_id='1242768' first='George' last='VanSandt'] of Central Catholic, and West Linn standouts [player_tooltip player_id='937113' first='Shane' last='Peters'], [player_tooltip player_id='937233' first='Sloan' last='Baker'], and [player_tooltip player_id='1121755' first='Tyson' last='Donnerberg'].

Speaking on the team in general DY says, "Alpha Football prides ourselves on being a top-notch program on and off the field. We want to make sure the athletes know how to conduct themselves in a way that will benefit their tackle program."

Look for some of the young guys to step up next 7v7 season and compete at the highest level. Alpha should once again be in the mix come tournament time.
