Continue ReadingI attended the Woodland Wildcats v North Cobb Christian Eagles this past Friday on the NCC campus. I had read and seen a lot of clips on NCC during the off-season but this was my first time to see them in person. Below are 5 names that caught my eye during the scrimmage.
The 6’2 185 QB is a guy we have written about in the past just from film review. He didn’t disappoint in person. He catches your eye in warm-ups. Tall, well built kid, especially for a rising sophomore. Throws a great ball on a rope with good arm strength. Displayed an array of throws during the game. Accurate passer that hit a couple of receivers in stride across the middle with anticipation throws. Threw a deep ball down the left sideline for a TD and threw a beautiful on target fade for a TD later.
Solid QB prospect that has all the tools to be a solid P4 prospect. He picked up his first offer from Georgia State last week and I expect many more to follow in the coming year. Prep Redzone’s #4 Ranked QB in the ’27 Class and the overall #29 player in Georgia.
Highlights

It was a good thing there was a no contact on the QB rule for this scrimmage because the 6’1 245 Dixon lived in the backfield. The returning GACA All State DE is almost impossible to block off the end. Great 1st step and shows good quickness and agility in pursuit. Had 4 touch sacks in the scrimmage and was constantly putting pressure on the QB. I had the pleasure of listening to the Woodland coaches as they tried to come up with double teams and other ways to slow Dixon down.
The DPOY in the Region last season who had 12 sacks and 23.5 TFL in ’23. He holds 8 D1 offers as of right now and looks to be primed for another great season this Fall.

Archie was my breakout name of the game and my overall MVP for North Cobb Christian on the night. The 6’2 165 WR/DB is tall and lean and has great length. Showed good hands and route ability on the offensive end. He caught several passes over the middle in stride and scored on a long pass down the left sideline were he sidestepped the defender and raced for the endzone. He pulled down a little over the shoulder pass later in the game where he had the awareness to get both feet down. He was a nuisance on defense. He broke up several throws by getting those longs arms in the way.
A natural athlete that has a high football IQ. Has the height and length at an early age and will be a player colleges will want to evaluate going forward. Big upside potential.

If you have a QB that is going to throw for over 2000 yards you need guys that can catch the ball, Huggins is one of those. A solid WR option with good hands that had a ton of YAC on Friday. The 5’11 155 receiver is not shy about catching the ball in traffic and has the quickness to change direction after the catch and get positive yards. He seemed to be Jarrad’s go to option on the outside and in the middle Friday and this guy could wind up with a ton of receptions in 2024.
A breakout candidate in Region 7-2A for the 2024 season.

Cooper Bazarsky
Every passing team needs a tough runner to keep defenses honest. Bazarsky did a good job of that on Friday in limited carries in the 2Q scrimmage. A strong and compact and runs tough. He caught my eye on a goal line run where he just put his head down and bullied ahead, breaking a couple of tackles in the process.
A good athlete that can catch the ball out of the backfield and doesn’t mind pass blocking. He can help you on defense also. Solid physical tackler with a high football IQ. A player to watch this Fall.
