Hudl Discoveries #28: OK-Gold Pt.2

Back with coverage of the OK-Gold, we'll be looking at a few very intriguing prospects from Forest Hills Central, South Christian, and Unity Christian. There's a ton of talent between these three teams, and I'm happy to cover a few players who could break out next season!   '25 LB/SB | [player_tooltip player_id='1290848' first='Alexander' last='Dixon'] | Forest Hills Central | <a href="https://www.hudl.com/profile/16153556/Alexander-Dixon">Hudl</a>   Alexander served as a great depth piece for FHC during last season's state championship run. Playing linebacker, Alexander was an adequate tackler and was solid at stopping the run between the tackles. With better reaction time, he could be a full-time starter next season. At slotback, he was utilized as a speed-in-space player. Alexander has the speed to outrun most defenders but doesn't have the reps needed to acquire great vision or IQ. Keep gaining reps this offseason, and he'll be set up very well for a breakout 2024 Fall season.    '25 DL | [player_tooltip player_id='1290456' first='Orion' last='Roskam'] | Forest Hills Central | <a href="https://twitter.com/orion_roskam">@orion_roskam</a>   This is an extremely high-effort player on the defensive front. In my eyes, effort, motor, and stamina go a long way in standing out as a defensive line prospect. Orion excels at stopping the run. Specifically, he's great at using the opposing lineman's momentum to his advantage, either allowing the blocker to carry him into the tackle or countering the opposite way to win an open tackling lane. That doesn't come without some IQ, either. Orion also displays decently active hands and explosiveness off the line, but those aspects could be improved.    '25 OLB | [player_tooltip player_id='1290850' first='Seder' last='Middaugh'] | Forest Hills Central | <a href="https://twitter.com/SederMiddaugh">@SederMiddaugh</a>   Sedar may not be a game-breaker, but he is an excellent role player on the tough FHC defense. There's a good well-roundedness to his game. Sedar has experience lining up on-ball as an EDGE rusher, off-ball blitzer, off-ball outside run stopper, and he can drop back into pass coverage. While stopping the run, Seder is patient and sets the edge very well. Whether he's on or off the ball, he doesn't let anything get outside of him and fights through blocks in order to make that happen. Improvements in strength and play speed would turn him into a superstar in this category. Seder also has the speed to blitz effectively, and he has a surprisingly wide tackle radius. I could definitely see Sedar take a massive step forward come next season.    '25 OLB | [player_tooltip player_id='1290853' first='Rowan' last='DeKam'] | South Christian | <a href="https://twitter.com/dekam_rowan">@dekam_rowan</a>   Rowan is a very similar style of player as Sedar, who I wrote about above. Rowan is an outside linebacker who has experience lining up on and off ball, and he serves as a vital role player for the South Christian defense. His speed allows him to rush the passer very well against inexperienced offensive tackles. He can also defend the outside run with consistent success. Just a bit more play speed, decisiveness, and strength will take his game to a new level.      '25 DB | [player_tooltip player_id='1290857' first='Isaac' last='Deng'] | Unity Christian | <a href="https://twitter.com/IsaacDeng25">@IsaacDeng25</a>   Isaac doesn't have a ton of tape, but his tape is still intriguing. I look for athletic traits in High School DBs, and Isaac looks decently athletic. It's difficult to see in film, but it looks like he sticks with his receivers well and has decent ball skills. Seeing him at an offseason camp would allow me to evaluate him further. As for run stopping, he's a willing tackler, but could be more aggressive on that front.    '25 DT | [player_tooltip player_id='1290859' first='Jayden' last='Fles'] | Unity Christian | <a href="https://twitter.com/FlesJayden">@FlesJayden</a>   Jayden is a physical defensive tackle who has a few super promising plays on his short highlight tape. First off, all of his highlights show great effort and motor. I don't know if that effort is present for every down (it rarely is for DTs), but if one thing is for sure, it's that Jayden can make plays. He's faster and more agile than expected. Jayden has a good getoff that allows him to immediately gain a step on the opposing linemen. That, along with some stunts, allow him to get into the backfield fairly often. When in the backfield, he does a good job at reading the guards, and immediately pouncing on the RB for a tackle. He's also quite physical but needs to work on his hands and block-shedding abilities.
