I’ve discussed Orion a few times earlier this offseason. There are several reasons why I think Orion is set up for success during his upcoming senior season. For one, colleges will love his 6’4″ 220lb size. Secondly, I trust Forest Hills Central to develop its players. Lastly, Orion showed some flashes last season against some good teams. Namely, Orion is a high-IQ player who is way more agile than most at his position. Orion knows how to use his hands, he has a good getoff, wide tackle radius, and can make plays against just about any program in Michigan. He just needs to take a step this season in order to receive the Division 2 GLIAC offers I think he’s capable of earning.

Orion is front and center of D-Linemen who could be in for a breakout season. To start, you’ve got to love his size. 6’4″ 220 is enough to make any D2 coach take a close look. As for his tape, I like Orion’s motor. There were several plays made by Orion that wouldn’t have occurred without a bit of extra effort on Orion’s part. As for pass rush, I’m not quite sure what to make of his upside yet. Considering his size, I believe his ceiling is high in that regard. I’m very “wait and see” when it comes to Orion and I hope to see him breakout this fall!

I’m not entirely sure what to make of Orion. If I know one thing, it’s that his ceiling is very high. Orion’s Junior season film impressed me, as he displayed great effort and IQ. Motor and smarts go a long way when playing on the defensive line, and on top of his height/weight, the sky’s the limit. Orion is currently unproven when it comes to pass rush, and he needs to improve his physicality in order to play at the next level. I could easily see Orion being a great role player this season, but I could also see him breaking out into an all-region player.
