Scout’s Notes: Linebackers
Although he was highlighted in a pre-event piece, Notre Dame’s
Cameron Bailey

Bailey

Notre Dame | 2025
NJ
did not disappoint. Bailey had a really good physique and body that can certainly withstand the perils of any given season. He used this battle-ready body to force the issue against kick out blockers and backs in protection. Lastly, Bailey showed great balance when competing, never getting faked out, avoiding getting exploited and never exposed….. Lining up in the middle of the defense for Florence is
Kosi Onunkwo

Florence | 2026

. Onunkwo was an interesting prospect. Obviously he popped to the naked eye due to his size. He also was a bit of a thumper, exerting force and momentum in everything that he did. As the junior continues to develop in the weight room over the next two off seasons one of two things could happen: he could get leaner, faster, and cut up as true linebacker; or he could gain weight, get bigger, stronger, and end up putting his hand in the dirt in college….. Making the trip from Paul VI,
Charles Harmon

Harmon

Paul VI | 2026

, a rising junior also left an impression on me. Harmon demonstrated very good footwork throughout the entirety of the day. First during indy, Harmon showcased the speed and quickness he possesses in his feet during bag drills. As the focus shifted to 1-on-1 sessions, his feet prevailed in different situations. They enabled him to get to his maintain balance, win the leverage battle, and open up quickly to stay in the hip pocket of his matchup.
Closing out this evaluation are two promising prospects from the class of 2027….. Eastern Regional is home to linebacker Gregory Luma Gregory Luma 5'10" | 180 lbs | LB Eastern Regional | 2027 NJ . From the looks of him I was able to assume Luma was a younger player; however, he was unabashed and competed with players who certainly had more varsity experience than him. Luma moved well and was highly coachable, applying what his position coach implored him to do. Luma showed that he has the foot speed and desire to be a player to impact the varsity level. Strong, consecutive off seasons will in the weight room will only aid Luma’s pursuit of excellence….. From Northern Burlington came Danny Greene Danny Greene LB Northern Burlington | 2027 State NJ . Greene, who was recently ranked in our 2027 player rankings, is a good, hard-nosed, quality high school football player. He has the requisite size to play a multitude of positions along the defensive front with nothing but upside as he prepares for his sophomore season. Greene had a natural tendency to come out of his breaks quickly without losing speed. As he gains more experience, Greene’s pursuit angles and tracking of the near-side hip will improve.
