The circuit of back-to-back-to-back weekends on the road has come to a conclusion, as I was fortunate to attend Coach Nick Pennisi's PSR BIG Camp Series on Saturday, May 11. This marks the second year in a row that I covered the event. Pennisi has grown his significantly from last year. With over 400 prospects registered for the event, I had my work cut out for me to identify and scout some of the event's standouts. As I feverishly wrote notes, here are my scouting notes from the position group disclosed in the subject line.

Scout's Notebook: Defensive Line

[player_tooltip player_id='1275965' first='Sam' last='Bartoszek'] is a prospect from St. Peter's Prep that has the ability to match his size. Listed at 6'3" 230lb, Bartoszek appears to have the versatility to play any spot along the defensive line. When competing Bartoszek did a nice job of actively attacking the hands on his matchup, while making sure to finish his moves as well as all his reps..... The third weekend in a row I saw Riverside's [player_tooltip player_id='819156' first='George' last='Branin']. Branin appears as a good fit within the interior of any defensive line. Something new Branin showed me this weekend was that he powered through an offender's weak shoulder. Additionally, he showcased more speed as he was able to gain the edge on a 3-tech. One move that Branin has down pat is the bull rush; however, I want to see him stack moves after hitting the bull..... Akin to Branin, [player_tooltip player_id='1264494' first='Camaj' last='Matthews'] has been following me around for the last three weekends. Matthews was extremely fast on the speed rush, but he also demonstrated a new-found degree of violence when doing so. The very next rep he took, Matthews attacked with power as he is able to bend well and get low. Later on in the afternoon, Matthews used the spin move to set up an inside rush reminiscent of Dwight Freeney

I was glad to see Montgomery's [player_tooltip player_id='343143' first='Landen' last='Dikker'] back on the road, as like like Branin and Matthews this year, it seemed as if I saw him at every turn of the camp circuit. My impression of Dikker remains the same: very solid and technically sound prospect who executes many techniques well. This was evidenced by how well his clubs worked. Dikker stacked his club with a swim inside very well on one rep. My only feedback would be to restack the heels of his offensive matchup to assure he keeps contain and torque his hips some...... I have to give some love to Bound Brook's [player_tooltip player_id='1275966' first='Jamile' last='Adoboe']. Aside from him actively engaging with me on Twitter, Adoboe is a prospect I only have seen film on and not live. What I saw in Adoboe is that he changes direction very well. He can open up and run, get down hill, hit the deck and recover, redirect, and started to flash twitchy hips by the end of the afternoon. This sort of athletic ability will make Adoboe a mismatch piece at the collegiate level..... Closing out this piece is Clifton's [player_tooltip player_id='1210990' first='Justin' last='Gaviria']. One of two Gaviria brothers from the Mustangs, I remember vividly watching his film when I covered Clifton's pre-season piece, and left with a good impression. Gaviria possessed good feet. This allowed him to beat most offensive matchups to the spot he targeted when rushing. Interestingly, he pointed his feet in the direction he wished to go - which is something I do not see much of. For whatever reason I sense like Gaviria has a second gear that he was holding back.
