After breaking down some intriguing freshmen wide receivers, here’s my list of the top 2027 running backs in Kentucky to keep an eye on this upcoming fall.
In the first place spot on my list is Kasen Brock Kasen Brock 5’11” | 195 lbs | RB Pulaski County | 2027 State KY , a running back at Pulaski County High School. What impresses me about Brock is his quick execution off the handoff, proving he can stay on his feet in the pocket and break tackles en route to the open field. I also like Brock’s ability to pick up speed on the ground, showcasing his ability to blast past the defense into the endzone for the score.
Highlights
I am additionally impressed with Kadin Hanshaw Kadin Hanshaw 5’11” | 170 lbs | RB Grayson County | 2027 State KY , a running back at Grayson County High School. In addition to excellent footwork and speed off the snap, Hanshaw stands out due to his ability to maneuver the pocket and juke out the defense as he marches forward into enemy territory. I also like Hanshaw’s ability to keep the play alive under pressure, showcasing his ability to break tackles.
Claiming the number three spot on my list is Jamarion Gardner Jamarion Gardner 5’9″ | 160 lbs | RB Russellville | 2027 State KY , a running back at Russellville High School. Gardner makes a difference with his ability to throw the stiff arm on the run, proving he can pick up yards from along the edge. I also like Gardner’s ability to utilize his electric speed in the backfield, showcasing his ability to be durable and slip past the defense on his way to the endzone.
Another skilled prospect to keep an eye on next season is Caven Williams Caven Williams 5’11” | 180 lbs | RB Lawrence County | 2027 State KY , a running back at Lawrence County High School. Williams impresses me with his ability to breach the pocket and punch through openings in the defensive line. I also like how Williams can juke out the defense and break tackles with his deceptive footwork, calculated movement and explosive speed on the ground.

Berry impresses me with his solid balance, composure under pressure and his ability to absorb defensive contact on the run. Berry’s ability to blast past the pocket and push into the backfield also stands out. I also like Berry’s ability to change direction and use the edge to march into strong field position.
Also worth mentioning is Landen Stiltner Landen Stiltner 6’0″ | 200 lbs | RB Raceland | 2027 State KY , a running back at Raceland High School. What I like about Stiltner is his ability to utilize his size and electric speed on the ground, showcasing his ability to shake the defense in the pocket and push into enemy territory. Stiltner also makes a difference with his physicality, proving he can barrel through the defense and stay on his feet in crucial moments.

Another playmaker to watch for is Braden Burk Braden Burk 6’0″ | 170 lbs | RB Owensboro | 2027 State KY , a running back at Owensboro High School. What makes Burk so impactful offensively is his ability to dodge and weave the defense in the pocket and maneuver the backfield with his calculated footwork. Burk also proved his ability to take it all the way to the house from along the edge, showcasing his breakaway speed and ability to use his size to his advantage.
