This group of seniors are loaded with potential and a lot of them already getting attention from college scouts looking for them to capitalize on one more season to show out in the Show Me state. Below I wanted to highlight the top five running backs I feel will lead the charge come the start of Friday and Saturday high school football.
Parker is the headliner of this class with a plethora of offers from each conference all over the country. He is legit as advertised and makes it look too easy. I’ve watched this young man first hand develop since youth football and the “IT” factor was always attached to his name. He has a long muscular frame with lights out speed and quickness. A threat in the passing game as well. Surrounded by top tier talent, I still believe Jamarion could carry the load (25+ carries) if needed. This would most likely result in video game numbers. Going into his senior campaign with All-American status and a few State Rings already under his belt, will make opposing coaches try once again to limit his production because you’re not going to stop him from getting his. As a Junior, Parker tallied 1,644 yards (11.2 avg) on the ground, 16 receptions, and 26 touchdowns. In March, he decommitted from Arkansas and is still weighing out his options.
Highlights
Woods is looking to cement his legacy at East Side this year as a senior leader. With a couple of State Championship appearances and a ring to show for his efforts, Larevious is not satisfied and wants to raise the bar on the way out. He is built like a traditional pro style bell cow who can carry whatever load you try to place on his powerful lower half. Bouncing off tackles, juking at the point of contact, or outrunning defenders on the perimeter, are all ways Woods has proven he’s a guy. Last year he was responsible for reaching pay dirt 20 times averaging 7 yards per carry. Right now he holds an offer from Kent St. and I look to see his stock go up over the summer.
Warrenton still has a GAC Player of the Year in their running back room named Austin Haas Austin Haas RB MO . He’s coming off an All-State showing with 1,712 yards rushing and 27 touchdowns as a Junior. This prospect has the goods to burst through would be tackles and possesses elite vision that lends to him always falling forward for the hidden yards. Toughness isn’t a question either, and I like his pad level through the line of scrimmage. The Warriors are coming off a Cinderella year and Haas can lay claim to a lot of the success. Finally, I feel as a dual sport standout he can definitely play at the next level.
You have to be special to wear #1. Well Mr. Wolfe checks off that box. Being a captain and two way starter for Borgia, he looks to come back even harder as a Senior. All eyes were on him when he was shot out of a cannon for a 65 yard touchdown where he ran away from defending State Champions Cardinal Ritter on their home turf. That does not happen! Wolfe is both tough mentally and physically and you can see his determination when he was that football under his arm. Double effort mixed with his talent is a recipe for winning. He’s coming off a 1,029 yard season with a 7.7 per carry average. Honors also include All-Conference, District, and Metro. I suspect he wants to add All-State after this fall.
What Duan McRoberts Duan McRoberts 5’7″ | 180 lbs | RB Wright City | 2025 MO Jr. lacks in stature, he makes up for with that thing beating in his chest. This kid can go and doesn’t apologize for how he plays, BIG! He has some of the best contact balance I’ve seen and his determination is unmatched. On top of that add speed, agility and just sit back and watch him pick his way through a stacked front that all have their eyes on him. This is a three sport high IQ player that found his way into the end zone 10 times last season accompanied by 1,326 yards rushing (9.9 avg). I’ll have my eyes on this one an can’t wait to see him perform in person.
