An under-recruited area that holds some top teams in the state and quality players that are must see for this spring & summer. This article doesn’t cover all Western MD players that were in the rankings but I wanted to focus on a few that are still under the radar.
Ceonta is a kid who is still flying under the radar by colleges and one they need to get out and see this off season. He comes in #113 overall, the #9 overall ATH and the 2nd highest rated western MD prospect. Ceonta had a huge junior season playing WR and LB, and making the 1st team 2A all state team. I saw him earlier this fall and he is a verified 6’2″ with a 77″ wingspan and 30 1/2″ arms. So he passes the eye ball test of size/frame/length. Wilmore is also a high level athlete at the size, basketball player as well who has some good twitch in his hips and smooth long stride that can eat up grass. He is quick off the edge with nice COD and read react ability to go get the ball carrier. See him being an edge defender on defense as he continues to fill out his frame and should be garnering some offers over this summer once he hits one days camps.
Jabril recently just picked up his first FCS offer and I expect more coming his way shortly. Big fan of his game as he helped lead Fort Hill to another state tittle this past season. Jabril comes in as the #24 overall ATH and #220 overall on the 2025 Prospect Rankings. He did it all for Fort Hill making impact plays on both sides of the ball at RB & DB. With a good frame and build, Jabril is a physical downhill runner who can fight through contact to make big plays. Is a home run threat every time he touches the ball. At DB, he is a ball hawk who can covers a lot of ground quickly. He shows great vision as. RB and great understanding of positioning on defense…proving he is a high football IQ player. Want to get a verified 40 time on him because if he runs well a lot more schools are going to take notice.
Ethan is one of two Catoctin OL to make it on the rankings list, coming in at #246 and the #40 overall OL. An interior OL with a good thick build he shows good strength and power through the hips. He is a mauler type that knocks guys to the ground. Ethan also shows good feet and ability to pull nicely finishing with explosiveness on contact. He made first team all region, is a thrower in track and high academic prospect with a 4.2 GPA. Ethan will also be at the National Preps Showcase later this May and I see him making a strong impression on some schools there.
Another Fort Hill player to make the rankings, Tristan comes in at #272 overall but the #13 overall RB. He is an explosive runner with good burst and long speed. Tristan is a legit track runner with a 11.05 100m FAT time, and that shows on tape. He sees a lane, will hit the hole and go… pulling away from defenders. Flashes good wiggle and elusiveness and is also an impact in the return game. Effective catching out of the backfield as well, shows good hands and is dynamic in space. A key member of Fort Hill’s championship team, Tristan will shine in one day camps this summer.
Eli was part of a Mountain Ridge team that made it all the way to the state finals before falling to Fort Hill. Eli sneaks in to the rankings list at #316 overall. He is a big WR target at 6’3″ and is capable of getting over the top of the defense and effective in the red zone. Shows the ability to create separation and create his own space, will go across the middle and shows soft hands. I see Eli developing into a move TE as he is a willing blocker and can be used in an H-back type role as well. High academic prospect as well with a 4.12 GPA and with his size/frame/athleticism mix he will be one colleges will want to get to camp this summer.
