James “JT” Sieg 5′ 80 lbs WR Blaine 2030
The Blaine 2030 prospect was an absolute competitor throughout the day. Sieg was far from the biggest prospect but his ability to stop and start and make quick cuts caught my eye early on. When running routes or doing drills, Sieg wasted little time dropping his hips and accelerating through the finish line. He had soft hands which he flashed late, already very promising habits that I’m happy he’s developing early on in his athletic career.
Ike Dooner 5′ 90 lbs WR/DB Sartell 2029
A WR/DB prospect hailing from the suburbs of northern Minnesota, Dooner’s effort to snag balls impressed me early on in the combine. He lays out for catches when needed, and he makes great use of his hands when defending passes. He possesses solid ball instincts and can break from the top of his drop quickly when the quarterback releases the ball. I’m excited to see how Dooner continues to develop.
Abel Wagner Abel Wagner 5'1" | 100 lbs | WR WI 5’1″ 100 lbs WR Regis Middle School (WI) 2029
The only out-of-state kid to make this article, Wagner showcased both an impressive ball-tracking ability as well as some solid hands during the one-on-ones portion of the combine. He wasn’t the biggest prospect we’ve seen, but he has plenty of time to grow into his body while continuing to develop his hand-eye coordination and his footwork. His ability to create separation off of the line of scrimmage was impressive, especially for a 2029 prospect.
Deontre Scott 5’1″ 125 lbs RB Maple Grove Middle School 2030
A fullback/runningback hailing from Maple Grove, Scott boasts a solid frame for a member of the class of 2030. He showed off solid lateral movement throughout the combine and rather fluid hips when cutting upfield with the ball in his hands. I hope to see where Scott’s development goes in further camps over his athletic career.
Kade Grant Kade Grant 5'5" | 110 lbs | QB MN 5’6″ 110 lbs QB Blaine 2030
You’d be hard-pressed to find someone as eager to compete as Grant was. His maturity in the pocket when slinging the rock during one-on-ones was impressive, and the ball retained a tight and natural spiral when it flew out of his hands. Grant was able to hit several throws farther downfield than many of his competitors, and showcased solid ball placement, especially of someone of his class. Definitely a name to keep an eye out for going forward.
Jaelon Larson-Adams 5’7″ 125 lbs WR Inner Grove Middle School 2029
Larson-Adams was one of the physically most impressive prospects at the combine, especially for his age group. Not only did he pass the eye test as one of the bigger kids in his group, but he also tested well in the 40-yard dash and pro-agility drill. He will return for his 8th-grade year physically ahead of many other kids in his class, but mentally he looked competitive and locked in throughout the entire combine. An encouraging sign from the 2029 Simley product.
