Continue ReadingCT-Prime will be fielding two teams in the 18u bracket of the Pennsylvania Classic 7v7 Tournament and they will bring a ton of talent from Connecticut down to Coatesville. CT-Prime will be bringing some of the most talented players down to the tournament but diving deeper into their rosters there are some intriguing prospects highlighted below that I am very interested in putting eyes on this weekend.
Will be highlighting some of the top prospects listed on each squad’s roster on the Zorts platform which is used for roster and tournament management.
CT PRIME BLACK
Mallory easily could be the top player in the tournament and the recent Wake Forest commit is a dangerous WR prospect who has a combination of size and speed that is extremely difficult to defend in 7v7. Mallory not only had a great season at Cheshire Academy but already has been dominant on the 7v7 scene this year. Mallory who held multiple P4 offers will be a dynamic receiver in the ACC for years to come and will be a player defenses key in on to try and stop.
Highlights
Armani Reid Armani Reid 5’10” | 160 lbs | ATH East Coast Prep | 2025 New E out of West Haven who is a talented two-way prospect that just recently reclassified to the 2025 class doing a PG year with East Coast Prep will be a top two-way prospect for CT-Prime Black. Reid a fluid athlete shows good ball skills and plays the game with good instincts. Reid is a smooth athlete who consistently finds his way around the ball. Not many in the tournament will have the two-way impact that Reid projects to have this weekend.

Cameron Covington Cameron Covington 5’10” | 160 lbs | DB Hamden | 2026 State New E a two-way prospect out of Cheshire Academy will be a staple at cornerback for CT-Prime Black. Covington his good ball skills and foot speed but excels in his ability to read the game. He does a good job reading the quarterback adjusting his coverage and closing on the catch point based on what he sees and reads with his eyes. Covington has fluid hips and the ability to change direction well. His film from the fall shows a player who is a consistent man coverage corner and can use his athleticism to show flashes of playmaking ability as a defender.
Highlights
Conlan, the QB for West Haven has been extremely productive during the fall season and could be the top QB prospect in the 18u bracket. Conlan is poised in the pocket and showcases the ability to push the ball vertically with velocity. Conlan has good touch on his passes and can alter the ball flight and the style of throw he needs to make at a high level. Conlan is not afraid to put the ball in tight windows and showcases confidence in his arm talent. Conlan is a talented QB prospect who should have a strong group of offensive playmakers at his disposal.

CT PRIME YELLOW
Jack Philistin
Jack Philistin
The only QB on the CT Prime Yellow Roster, Jack Philistin is a very intriguing QB prospect. Philistin shows solid athleticism and can throw on the run. While on tape you see him use his legs well he showcases the adequate arm strength to make all the throws you will want to see in the 7v7 setting. Philistin is a creator and playmaker at the position often creating something under major duress on film. His confidence seems to never waver and he is extremely poised in the pocket. I will be locked in on Philistin to see if we can see him work in rhythm and get the ball out quickly and efficiently in 7v7 when he does not have to create broken plays.
Franklin is a LB prospect out of West Haven and it is safe to say he will man the middle of the defense for CT Prime Yellow. His tape features a lot of coming down near the LOS and being a bigtime impact player against the run. In a 7v7 setting with no running the ball, some traits are clear in his film that will translate. He reads the game well from the middle of the field which should lead to him playing with good positioning in 7v7 and he showcases some good change of direction and burst in open space. Excited to see the performance of this “true” LB prospect.

Edison Santiago
Edison Santiago
Edison Santiago is a long lean WR prospect who will look to be a dangerous offensive weapon for CT Prime Yellow. Santiago has solid tape where his change of direction will help create separation in the 7v7 setting. You see a lot of screens and yards after catch in his film and is a prospect that can easily turn short-area targets into bigger gains offensively. Excited to see what Santiago can do in this setting.
