With that being said, I wanted to highlight some players at each position that deserve and are still seeking their first college offer. After already covering the offensive side of the ball, I will now turn my attention to the defensive side of the ball, starting with some defensive linemen in the class of 2025 in the state of Missouri that still need offers.
Jaydin Simms Jaydin Simms 6’3″ | 280 lbs | DL Lutheran North | 2025 State MO is a defensive lineman that stood out to me when breaking down junior year film. He lines up at defensive end where he is very dangerous as a pass rusher, using his strength and explosiveness to drive straight through opposing offensive tackles on his way to the quarterback. Simms finished this past season with 10 sacks in 13 games. He also showed the ability to stop the run, finishing the year with 66 tackles. Jaydin hasn’t reported any college interest but he is a player that coaches should definitely have their eyes on heading into his senior year.
Skyler Slaton Skyler Slaton 6’3″ | 240 lbs | DL Branson | 2025 State MO is another 2025 defensive end that has caught my attention. He is at his best against the run where he is able to use his speed and high motor to run sideline to sideline to get to the ball carrier in a hurry. Once he gets to the ball carrier, he is a very reliable tackler in the open field. Slaton has also shown the ability to rush the passer, using his strength to bull rush straight through opposing offensive tackles. I can see some offers coming Skyler’s way soon as he has already received some college interest and has the talent to play at the next level.
Highlights
Another defensive lineman that stood out to me when watching junior year film is Timothy Mitchell Timothy Mitchell 6’3″ | 305 lbs | DL William Chrisman | 2025 State MO . Timothy lines up at defensive tackle where he is very reliable against the run. He has shown the ability to use his strength to fight through blocks with ease and get to the ball carrier. Once he gets to the ball carrier, he does a great job of securing the tackle. I wouldn’t be surprised to see that first offer come soon for Mitchell as he has received some college interest and has the talent to play somewhere at the next level.
My final defensive lineman in this series is Malakia Thaxton Malakia Thaxton 6’4″ | 290 lbs | DL St. Joe Central | 2025 State MO . Thaxton lines up at defensive tackle where is dominant against the run. He explodes out of his stance and fights through blocks quickly on his way to the ball carrier. Thaxton gets to the ball carrier with a sense of urgency and is a very reliable tackler in the open field. Malakia hasn’t reported much college interest but he definitely deserves some attention from college coaches heading into his senior year.
