Continue ReadingGorman is one of 3 running backs used last season. He got to play in 5 games with 33 carries and 133 yards. Gorman runs behind his pads and fights for extra yards. Gorman has great size and is going to use his 200-pound frame to plow down the field in 2024.
Igwebe is transitioning from the young weapon to a veteran key player. He led the team with 61 receptions, 777 yards, and 8 touchdowns. Aaron is still tearing up the seams deep down field and has improved in his run after the catch. He’s been used in the screen game a lot more to get the ball in his hands, he’s shown some elusiveness and block setup. His ability to adjust to the back shoulder pass is prominent and could be a special weapon with his talented QB.
White finished the season 3rd in tackles with 29 and 3 TFL’s, 2 sacks for a total of -16 yards, and 4 QB pressures. He has impressive strength and an aggressive punch on contact, on a few plays in film he pushes the blocker right into the pocket. White shows some versatility in Spalding’s 3-4 defense, he is productive playing inside and outside the tackle.
Shipps is a prospect who’s been at the top of his class for a few years now and this season proved that he’s been ranked in the right range. Shipps had 4 INT’s and a handful of PBU’s. On film he shows awareness and range in zone coverage, and he comes down and makes good wrap tackles. His latest offers were Michigan State, Wisconsin, and Duke giving him a total of 11. I expect for Shipps to continue to improve but, I don’t expect many teams to go his way this season.
Highlights
Johnson is another weapon in that defensive backfield, he already has great size, and breaks on the ball quick. He plays the jump ball well and is physical off the line in the redzone. On his recruiting trail he is already ahead of the game, he has a total of 13 including schools such as Maryland, Penn State, and NC State. With another year of growth and championship caliber defense expect to hear Johnson’s name a lot over the next two seasons.
