But for now, it's time to debut a new series that will feature an article every Friday called “First Look Friday” and the whole point of this series is to put the spotlight on athletes that we have never covered. The premise is very simple. We want to cover prospects that we haven't had a chance to do so. Now, some of these athletes might already be ranked, have been tweeted about, whatever it may be. But none of the players on these articles have ever had a breakdown and that changes here. Keep it locked in to Prep Redzone Oklahoma for more First Look Friday breakdowns!</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:acf/evaluation-block {"name":"acf/evaluation-block","data":{"player_evaluations_0_player":["1245265"],"_player_evaluations_0_player":"field_62ab9d62ecf2c","player_evaluations_0_override_profile_image":"","_player_evaluations_0_override_profile_image":"override-player-profile-image","player_evaluations_0_not_in_database":"","_player_evaluations_0_not_in_database":"field_62aba48cecf2d","player_evaluations_0_evaluation":"Chickasha 2025 wide receiver [player_tooltip player_id='1245265' first='Blake' last='Dominguez'] is our first prospect to break down on this week's First Look Friday feature. At first glance, Dominguez looks like your typical slot receiver that does the majority of his work after the catch. But there's a lot more to his game that we think can set him up for a successful high school career and a chance to play at the next level. The first thing that really stood out was his overall strength. The kid does not go down to the first touch of contact. He's incredibly strong and you can see that strength on display after the catch. He absorbs contact and keeps his legs moving on multiple plays throughout his film. There's one play in particular where it looks like he's going to be tackled immediately and he somehow moves the pile, spins out of several different tacklers and picks up more yards. He has good hands and showed a tremendous amount of versatility on the offensive side of the ball. He made plays at running back and even showcased the arm on some trick plays in 2023.","_player_evaluations_0_evaluation":"field_62aba51aecf34","player_evaluations_1_player":["1245266"],"_player_evaluations_1_player":"field_62ab9d62ecf2c","player_evaluations_1_override_profile_image":"","_player_evaluations_1_override_profile_image":"override-player-profile-image","player_evaluations_1_not_in_database":"","_player_evaluations_1_not_in_database":"field_62aba48cecf2d","player_evaluations_1_evaluation":"Out of the five prospects on this breakdown, there is no doubt that Victory Christian freshman [player_tooltip player_id='1245266' first='Eli' last='Dyer'] is at the top of the list in terms of unknowns. Simply put, there wasn't much film from the 2023 season to make a complete and full evaluation on Dyer but there's also plenty of room for optimism moving forward. On the film that we did watch from last fall, Dyer is making some big plays in big moments so that certainly stood out and is a promising trait as we look ahead to this fall. And when this fall rolls around, Victory Christian will be looking for new playmakers to replace some of the production that they have lost to graduation. That will open the door for Dyer to fill that role at the wide receiver position or wherever else he's needed for the Conquerors. The ceiling is high moving forward but again, there isn't much to go off of right now. Dyer does come from an athletic family where older brother Dallas had a very productive 2023 season when he was healthy. The hope for Victory Christian is for both to be healthy this season.","_player_evaluations_1_evaluation":"field_62aba51aecf34","player_evaluations_2_player":["505619"],"_player_evaluations_2_player":"field_62ab9d62ecf2c","player_evaluations_2_override_profile_image":"","_player_evaluations_2_override_profile_image":"override-player-profile-image","player_evaluations_2_not_in_database":"","_player_evaluations_2_not_in_database":"field_62aba48cecf2d","player_evaluations_2_evaluation":"We'll start with this statement right here off the top. Jones 2026 offensive lineman [player_tooltip player_id='505619' first='Jack' last='Mendoza'] has an incredibly high ceiling moving forward and watching his sophomore film just made us more excited for what he will be moving forward. On the film, Mendoza started for the Longhorns at left tackle and the very first play on the highlight made us say u0022woahu0022 out loud. He pulled down the line like a freight train and the poor defender had no chance when he encountered Mendoza. The Jones sophomore is quick out of his stance with quick feet and that allows him to be very successful when pulling. But based on his current size, around 6'2 or 6'3, his game definitely projects to more of an interior offensive lineman at the next level. But playing at the next level is certainly in the cards for him. His hand placement is really good and he has some good clips on his film of him dominating against really good competition. He puts dudes down with a variety of moves and like we said at the beginning of this breakdown, his ceiling is very high.","_player_evaluations_2_evaluation":"field_62aba51aecf34","player_evaluations_3_player":["1045561"],"_player_evaluations_3_player":"field_62ab9d62ecf2c","player_evaluations_3_override_profile_image":"","_player_evaluations_3_override_profile_image":"override-player-profile-image","player_evaluations_3_not_in_database":"","_player_evaluations_3_not_in_database":"field_62aba48cecf2d","player_evaluations_3_evaluation":"Holland Hall 2026 running back [player_tooltip player_id='1045561' first='LJ' last='McGhee'] had a sophomore year that was very similar to his play on the football field. Time after time, we watched McGhee finish every single run strong and that's the way his sophomore season played out. McGhee would take over as the starting running back during the second half of the regular season and had a really good sophomore campaign. McGhee's overall strength when running the ball is evident and he had a few plays in the playoffs where he delivered some absolute blows to some pretty talented athletes and left them in the dust. Another thing that really stood out when watching McGhee's film was his overall vision in the backfield. He's the not the biggest running back so identifying the correct hole and having his eyes work in sync with his feet and hips is critical. McGhee already does that at a solid level and the future is very bright for him and this Holland Hall offense moving forward. McGhee is going to try and pick right up where he left off at the end of his sophomore season.","_player_evaluations_3_evaluation":"field_62aba51aecf34","player_evaluations_4_player":["598830"],"_player_evaluations_4_player":"field_62ab9d62ecf2c","player_evaluations_4_override_profile_image":"","_player_evaluations_4_override_profile_image":"override-player-profile-image","player_evaluations_4_not_in_database":"","_player_evaluations_4_not_in_database":"field_62aba48cecf2d","player_evaluations_4_evaluation":"Our final prospect on this week's breakdown might have our favorite film of the week. Meeker 2025 quarterback [player_tooltip player_id='598830' first='Treyvon' last='Compton'] is right there with Mendoza for having the film that really raised our expectations for them as a prospect. First off, Compton was incredibly productive last season for Meeker. We're talking about a passer that had well over 2,500 yards and a runner that had nearly 800 yards on the ground. He's going to go into this season as one of the better quarterbacks in his respective class. Compton's release is incredibly quick and one of the things that really stood out, in addition to that quick release was his ability to have it from several different angles. Whether he's in the pocket or on the run, that release is always on point. Another underrated part of Compton's film that we liked were all of the plays he made against the best competition on Meeker's schedule. Not only has he proven that he can produce at a high level with all the stats but he can have that same success against top competition.","_player_evaluations_4_evaluation":"field_62aba51aecf34","player_evaluations":5,"_player_evaluations":"field_62aba7547dc44"},"mode":"edit","alignText":"left","anchor":"acf-block-66199a94aa5d0"} /-->
