YORK | There was so much to take in during Saturday afternoon’s Carolinas Coaches Combine as we had a chance to look at the pro shuttle, 40-yard dash and the individual session where the competition was active all throughout the afternoon. Here’s a look at our notes and observations from the session.
Pro Shuttle
Derrick Thomas | RB | Orangeburg-Wilkinson
Thomas moved quickly with good lateral movement during the pro shuttle.
Jordan Strong Jordan Strong 5'8" | 150 lbs | ATH Lewisville | 2026 State SC | DB | Lewisville
Strong had an initial good first step and finished with a good burst of speed during the pro shuttle.
Jyseer Stover | WR | Lancaster
Stover showed good body control moving from cone to cone.
Joseph Duey | LB | Fort Mill
Duey registered a time of 4.59 during the pro shuttle, displaying a good twitch and quickness with his lateral movements.
Tamarion Watkins | LB | Northwestern
Watkins showed quickness moving from cone to cone, finishing with a time of 4.66.
Here are some 40-yard dash times that caught our eye:
Jabari Amos | DB | Wagener-Salley – 4.76

Lincoln Wise | LB | Catawba Ridge – 4.5

Individual Standouts
Tavious Williams | RB | Powdersville
Williams made an impressive jump cut and showed an ability to make people miss. He also did a nice job of catching the ball out of the backfield on flare passes. He also caught our eye on a wheel route, looking the ball directly into his hands. He showed excellent concentration during the one-on-one period making a catch with a defensive back draped all over him.
Derrick Thomas | RB | Orangeburg-Wilkinson
Thomas caught our eye multiple times with his ability to run with power and purpose. He had a good burst of speed to finish off his runs as well.
Cameron McMillon Cameron McMillon 6'2" | 185 lbs | QB Fairfield Central | 2026 State SC | QB | South Pointe
With McMillon, the ball came out clean and he put it right where it needed to be where his receiver had an opportunity to make a play.
Evan Lawter (pictured above) | QB | Chesnee
We were impressed with Lawter’s ball placement, which was smooth to where his receiver could go to get it. He has a cannon for an arm, and he launched a ball during the very last rep, showing off the arm strength.
Broden Mitcheson of Fort Mill and Hayden Morris Hayden Morris 6'2" | 160 lbs | WR Indian Land | 2026 SC of Indian Land connected on a go route that was a beautiful vertical route where Morris ran right underneath it and caught it for the touchdown. We were impressed with Morris’ route running during the individual period.
Cedric Wherry | DB | South Pointe
Wherry made a nice pass break up to knock the ball away on a deep route. He stayed stride for stride with the wide receiver.
Carson Pinti | H-Back / TE | Clover
Pinti made a nice catch on an out and up to make a catch near the left sideline late during the session.
Mikey Johnson | LB | Indian Land
Johnson hung stride for stride with the receiver, keeping his eyes on his man.
