Peter Ramil, the relative of former Thompson star Stanton Ramil, is a talented defensive lineman that is transferring to Thompson from New York state. Ramil has a ton of talents at EDGE- he causes chaos in opposing backfields by both rushing the passer and by closing in on the run. Ramil has a lot of athleticism, he has the burst and speed to quickly work his way around offensive tackles while also being able to use his strength/power to bulldoze his way through the line of scrimmage. Ramil is a serious threat as a pass rusher- he already has a wide variety of moves he uses to beat offensive linemen to then pressure and bring down the quarterback. When he’s playing against the run, Ramil is a terrific tackler with great pursuit skills that allow him to bring down the ball carrier regardless of where he initially lines up pre snap. Keep an eye on Ramil this upcoming fall-he’s bringing a ton of talent and juice to Thompson’s defensive line and will be a player to watch!
Henry Smith is a defensive end prospect out of Hoover that has made a big impact on their defensive front over the last few seasons. Now at Moody, Smith is joining a really talented defense and is set to have a big junior season this upcoming fall. Smith has a huge presence on the interior and can produce in a lot of different ways. Against the run, Smith uses his size and strength to clog up running lanes. He eats up a ton of space and doesn’t allow for running lanes to be created, consistently helping his teammates take down the ball carrier. Against the pass, Smith utilizes his hands and strength to quickly work around and power through opposing offensive lines. He consistently generates pressure and is able to cause the quarterback to make a lot of mistakes. Smith has picked up an offer from Samford already, as he heads into this next season keep an eye on him, he’s sure to have a big year!
Highlights
Carnell Jackson is a terrific defensive linemen out of Auburn that has been really reliable for them at both defensive tackle and nose guard the last few seasons. Standing at 6’3 320, Jackson is a massive lineman that is a chore for opposing offenses to account for. Jackson is a monster against the run, he anchors himself really well, clogs up running lanes, and is a really dependable tackler that doesn’t allow for big gains. Jackson also moves really well for his size- he can pursue after the ball carrier really well, has a great motor, and a lot of pursuit skills that allow him to make plays all over the field. Jackson is a dominant run defender with a lot of potential in Auburn’s defense going forward. With how well he played in limited snaps last fall, Jackson is going to be a player to really watch out for next season!
Jacob Armstead Jacob Armstead 6’0″ | DL Pelham | 2026 State AL is a really talented defensive line prospect out of Pelham that made a lot of clutch plays for their defense last season. Armstead has the versatility to play and produce at a lot of different positions on their defensive line. Armstead is a really difficult player for opposing offenses to gameplan against- he has a great burst off the line of scrimmage, can use his hands, power, and quickness to beat offensive linemen, and consistently causes problems against the run and pass. Armstead also does a great job tackling, especially in the backfield and at the line of scrimmage. he wraps up the ball carrier really well and doesn’t allow for any big plays to be made when they’re ran to his side of the line. Keep an eye on Armstead and this Pelham defense, he has a lot to offer as a prospect and is definitely going to be one to watch this upcoming season!
