There are some heavy hitters at running back in the Class of 2025.

It's the first of two classes with a bunch of guys who can make an impact, including the No. 1 ranked prospect in the class. And the wealth is spread statewide, with players at every level in every corner.

Here's a look at the full list of ranked RBs in 2025.

BREAKING DOWN THE TOP FIVE

[player_tooltip player_id='605525' first='Marquise' last='Henderson'] Belton-Honea Path

Henderson helped lead the Bears to the doorstep of the 3A state title game last season, and put up some eye-popping numbers while doing it. Henderson rushed for 2,336 yards and 37 TDs in the Bears' run-heavy offense, and drew attention from everywhere, ending with a commitment to Clemson. BHP has a solid core coming back from last's year's squad, and Henderson has a chance to put up the same kind of numbers again this year.

[player_tooltip player_id='272702' first='Jevon' last='Edwards'] South Aiken

Edwards rushed for more than 1,400 yards last year, despite splitting carries with a dynamic QB in the Thoroughbreds' offense. This year, he could be featured even more. He runs with great balance, great vision, and top-end speed.

[player_tooltip player_id='1012565' first='LaDainnian' last='Martin'] J.L. Mann

Martin transferred from Greer in the offseason, and gives the suddenly-prolific Mann offense yet another weapon. His power and speed make him a home-run hitter, able to rip off long runs consistently. Last year for the Yellow Jackets, Martin rushed for 1,500 yards despite missing two games, averaged nine yards per carry, and scored 17 times on the ground. Even more impressively, he averaged a touchdown every 10 carries.

[player_tooltip player_id='272722' first='Zion' last='Gilbert'] South Florence

Gilbert's a thrill to watch, with plenty of speed and an ability to change direction that's hard to find. He runs behind a talented offensive line, notably tackle [player_tooltip player_id='1157891' first='Jayden' last='Granger'], and amassed more than 1,500 yards and 13 rushing TDs last season. He's an offensive focus for the Bruins, and every bit of attention he gets is deserved.

[player_tooltip player_id='1012627' first='Landon' last='Stone'] Clover

Stone is an absolute workhorse for the Eagles. He carried the ball a staggering 255 times for the Blue Eagles, surpassing 2,100 yards, scoring 15 TDs, and averaging more than 190 yards per game. Stone's pretty much the complete package at RB. He's strong, he's patient, he sees the field well, he can run over defenders, and he has plenty of speed once he gets loose.

TEN RISING STARS

[player_tooltip player_id='605527' first='Jaquel' last='Holman'] Blackville-Hilda

The Hawks rushed for more than 3,000 yards a year ago, and Holman had more than half that total, scoring 26 times on the ground and catching two TD passes. He's a lot of fun to watch, and he makes it look effortless when he runs. You don't see him pulling away until you notice that nobody's catching him.

[player_tooltip player_id='1157743' first='Kedarrion' last='Patterson'] T.L. Hanna

In an offense that prioritizes the fact that production can come from anywhere, Patterson (pictured) is one of the Yellow Jackets' most reliable producers. He had more than 1,700 all-purpose yards and 29 TDs, and while Hanna doesn't have a true "feature" back, those numbers could get even bigger as he becomes more of a focus.

[player_tooltip player_id='1249774' first='Nacyus' last='Morrison'] J.L. Mann

Morrison was the Patriots' leader on the ground, with more than 1,200 yards and two dozen TDs. With the addition of Martin, who thrived last year in a split-carry situation, it will be interesting to see what Mann can do in the shing game. Morrison is so athletic that it's possible he'll be a weapon all over the field.

[player_tooltip player_id='833941' first='KB' last='Henderson'] Blue Ridge

Henderson racked up more than 200 carries, more than 1,300 yards, 16 touchdowns, and is back for more. He's a wrecking ball who can squat nearly 600 pounds and runs like you'd expect when you read that number. He's also speedy enough to total nearly 400 return yards for the Tigers.

[player_tooltip player_id='1157819' first='Sharode' last='Richardson'] Westside

The Rams offense is loaded again, with top-tier talent at QB and WR. Richardson was the flash in a two-back system last season, but his speed and ability make him more than capable of being the Rams' feature back and continuing to keep the playbook wide open.

[player_tooltip player_id='1249809' first='Karson' last='Norman'] Abbeville

Want to know if Norman can run a little bit? Well, he's a track star for the Panthers in the spring and recently posted a sub-11 second 100 meters and a 22-second flat 200. All that speed translates on the football field, where his spot in the vaunted A-Bone attack gives defenses fits. With the Panthers' move to 1A, Norman's numbers could be incredible.

[player_tooltip player_id='272712' first='Preston' last='McNair'] Midland Valley

There's nobody more suited to step into the Mustangs' run-first scheme than McNair. He rushed for more than 1,000 yards last year, even as backfield mate Trevon Dunbar had more than 3,000. He's a powerful runner who's ready to step up and be the feature back.

[player_tooltip player_id='1013066' first='Brayden' last='Johnson'] St. Joseph's

Johnson was the clear feature of a crowded backfield in the Knights' wing rushing attack, with nearly 1,000 yards and 19 TDs on the ground. Three complementary backs return along with Johnson, and if the Knights' offense looks the same, there's no reason to believe he won't be equally as good - or better.

[player_tooltip player_id='1253994' first='Reese' last='Price'] Wren

Price and dual-threat QB [player_tooltip player_id='1158040' first='Colten' last='Bagwell'] make each other better in the backfield, as they combined to rush for nearly 2,500 yards. Price had more than 1,200 himself, and provides plenty of punch for the Hurricanes' offense.

[player_tooltip player_id='1254085' first='Ezekiel' last='Belcher'] Woodmont

Belcher is part of a dynamic backfield tandem - more on that in a minute - and he brings a ton of speed and elusiveness. Once he makes you miss or breaks a tackle at the line, which he does often, you'll be chasing him for a while. He picked up nearly 1,000 yards last season and scored nine times, including some direct snaps.

FIVE DARK HORSE 2024 CANDIDATES

[player_tooltip player_id='1157992' first='Jayden' last='Acosta'] Ashley Ridge

Acosta rushed for almost 1,000 yards last season, and returns to run behind a line that averages nearly 300 pounds across the front.

[player_tooltip player_id='1013112' first='Nehemiah' last='Floyd'] Mauldin

Floyd will step in as the feature back for the Mavericks in a second-year system that will likely prioritize the run.

Tavorace Williams Jr Woodmont

Williams has a 1,000-yard rushing season under his belt, and is part of a talented backfield with [player_tooltip player_id='1254085' first='Ezekiel' last='Belcher'] and QB [player_tooltip player_id='421471' first='Jordan' last='Sink']. He led the Wildcats in carries, and is capable of eating up yards.

[player_tooltip player_id='1254140' first='Kylar' last='Zimmerman'] Greenville

With a new coach and a new look, Zimmerman is a guy the Red Raiders will count on. His 809 yards led the Red Raiders last season, and both of the next two best totals are gone. He'll be a key part of the Greenville offense.

[player_tooltip player_id='1254206' first='Javen' last='Chhim'] Boiling Springs

Chhim showed flashes of outstanding play last season, but was hampered by some nagging injuries. If he can stay healthy, he can be a top feature back in Region II-5A.
