George Washington posted a talented offensive line last season but the one lineman in that group that has flown under our radar is Landon Byrd Landon Byrd 6’2″ | 280 lbs | OL George Washington | 2025 State WV . That is no longer the case as he enters our 2025 rankings as the #19 OL and debuts in the Top 125. No season highlight tape to evaluate, but there are some game highlights that we were able to check out, and Byrd showed enough in those to warrant a respectable ranking. The 6’2 280 big man lined up all over the Patriots’ line last season as a junior including both guard and tackle on each side of the line and even some defensive tackle. Byrd is a brawling run blocker who showcased quality physical strength last season and is stout in the run game. With his size, he’ll undoubtedly play guard at the next level but being able to play tackle on a team that likes to throw the ball around was also telling of his athleticism. Byrd showed he can block out in space and get to the second level at times on screens and run plays. If he has a strong senior season and gets a season highlight tape made, Byrd is a great candidate for someone who can climb in the rankings and get some college looks in 2024.
It’s likely that Parkersburg South WR Devon Forshey Devon Forshey 6’1″ | 185 lbs | WR Parkersburg South | 2025 State WV will be one of our stock risers in the final 2025 rankings update when they come out after the 2024 season, and he’s poised for a breakout senior season. Forshey had a very respectable junior campaign leading the Patriots in receiving yards catching 29 passes for 556 yards and 5 touchdowns on a 19-yards-per-catch average. I’m fully confident that he can take the next step in his development and build on that performance for his senior year. Parkersburg South is known for having a prolific passing attack under Head Coach Nathan Tanner and that should continue heading into the 2024 season, and Forshey should be their go-to guy after some graduation losses. He’ll debut as a Top 20 WR in the 2025 class, but a strong senior season could allow him to make a big jump in future updates.
Another great WR candidate for a future rankings stock riser is Linsly’s Ramello Derr Ramello Derr 5’8″ | 155 lbs | WR Linsly | 2025 State WV . Derr got banged up last season as a junior and missed some time but showed some great things on film when he was healthy. The biggest question with him moving forward is size and durability questions at 5’8 155, but Derr should be able to continue adding size and strength at the college level over time. He rounds out our Top 20 of 2025 WR rankings for now but could make a big jump with a strong senior season. I’m excited to see him in person at our Combine in early May where he should be able to excel in that setting, especially in 1-on-1s. The talent and skill are there to be a very good slot receiver at the next level if he can continue getting bigger.

Shady Spring offensive tackle Colton Henderson Colton Henderson 6’4″ | 255 lbs | OL Shady Spring | 2025 State WV leaves the 2025 Watch List and enters our rankings as the #20 OL and a Top 125 player in the class. Up 25 pounds since the last measurements we had for him and now listed at 6’4 255, Henderson has raised his ceiling with the added size and the biggest area we wanted to see development in before ranking him. He’s still a bit raw as a prospect but there’s a lot to work with there to mold him into a quality college player over time. Henderson also has quality film at defensive line which was another question for us for which position to rank him at, but we see him continuing to add size and playing offensive tackle in college or potentially as a longer guard down the road. He has good bend for his length and plays with good leverage, especially in the running game while showing a willingness to be physical. Pass pro footwork and technique is a work in progress, and his best football is ahead of him, but you can see the upside and potential he has with further development.

George Washington WR Bryson Sowards Bryson Sowards 6’0″ | 170 lbs | WR George Washington | 2025 State WV is a prime candidate for an under-the-radar player having a breakout senior season in 2024. His receiving numbers from 2023 won’t blow you away, but the Patriots lose some significant offensive weapons from last season which gives Sowards a great opportunity to showcase what he can do during his final year. He’s someone we had ranked as a DB in the past but moved him to WR moving forward and could end up back at DB or possibly even ATH in future updates depending on his senior film. Sowards showed very good vertical and lateral quickness on film and has the versatility of lining up in the slot and at wideout. He also flashed reliable hands that can make tough contested catches in traffic and is someone who can be counted on to make plays at the sticks and work the intermediate routes. Sowards should have more opportunities to display his vertical ability on deep balls next season along with after-the-catch ability which is what we’ll be watching for the most. He’s the leading returning receiver heading into the 2024 season, so it’ll be a great opportunity for him to prove what he can do and realize the ceiling he has.

A 2025 Watch List athlete we recently spotlighted who also makes the jump into the rankings is Spring Valley’s Bryce Fuller Bryce Fuller 6’0″ | 155 lbs | WR Spring Valley | 2025 State WV . Fuller had a modest junior season in terms of production but flashed some next-level athleticism with more opportunities sure to come in 2024 for his senior season. He was a two-way player for the Timberwolves in 2023 and may flip to DB in our rankings in the final update after the 2024 season depending on what film he has available. In the reps he saw last season, Fuller made the most of them on both sides of the ball and also is a quality runner on the Spring Valley Track & Field team. They should be able to throw the ball around more next season with classmate QB Liam McGuire Liam McGuire 6’1″ | 190 lbs | QB Spring Valley | 2025 State WV returning as their likely full-time QB1 so more touches for Fuller seem inevitable which could raise his stock a lot and may find himself much higher in the rankings with a breakout senior season.
